What to Know
It goes without saying that celebrities are usually going to look different when they’re caught on camera by paparazzi during their downtime from the way they look on the red carpet, but apparently, this is news to some people. After photos of Gal Gadot on her recent vacation to Costa Rica resurfaced this week, a lot of body shaming is being aimed at the Wonder Woman actress.
Gal visited Costa Rica in January.

The photos making the rounds on social media were originally taken last month, when Gal was spending time with friends while on a tropic vacay in Costa Rica, as multiple outlets including Just Jared reported. Paparazzi snapped her when she was out and about, grabbing snacks in a small store, and later, she was seen a bit more dressed up in a white dress as she went out to eat with her pals.
People immediately pointed out that she looks different.
After the paparazzi photos of Gal wearing a crop top and denim shorts were shared on X this week, people are weighing in with their opinions, and boy, do they have plenty of them.
“What happened to Gal Gadot? Why is she looking like this?” one commenter questioned. Another wrote, “Typical Hollywood type… mid and average without all the airbrush, photoshop and caked on makeup.”
Others came to Gal’s defense. Not only did some people find it refreshing to see a celebrity looking human, but some pointed out that even dressed down, she still looks good. “Gal out here looking like THAT on vacation and y’all still calling her mid… the delulu is strong today,” one fan on X wrote.
Gal has spoken out about being body shamed before.

As the star of a massive superhero franchise, this isn’t the first time that Gal has been body shamed online, and in 2017, she spoke out about being accused of not being curvy enough to play Diana Prince in an interview with Rolling Stone.
“Listen, if you want to be for real, then the Amazons, they had only one boob. Exactly one boob,” she said. “So what are you talking about here? Me having small boobs and small a–? That will make all the difference.”
Maybe someday, society will learn to keep their opinions about women’s bodies to themselves… that day is just not today.
