Gwen Stefani Pushing for Couples Therapy Amid Reports Blake Shelton Doesn’t Want Kids

There could be trouble in paradise for Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. Sources are saying that the couple could be headed toward divorce and that Gwen is pushing for couples therapy in an attempt to save their marriage of only two years.

One of the main reasons the celebrity couple is at odds, is reportedly because Gwen, who is already a mom of three, wants to have more kids, and Blake is dragging his feet.

Gwen is a mom to three sons: Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. Blake has been great about being a stepdad, and she has been pushing to have more kids.

“They talked about having more kids early on and Blake seemed keen, but he’s had second thoughts and is now fine with being a stepdad to her three,” In Touch Weekly reported a source saying.

The source added that Gwen is “less than thrilled,” and said “she wants a baby with Blake and presses the issue again and again.”

Blake is too relaxed as a stepdad.

Despite wanting more kids, the way he parents her boys is also rumored to be a point of contention for Gwen. Sources say that she is frustrated by his lack of enforcing her rules with the boys.

“Blake’s just like one big kid and the boys love him, but she wants to see him toughen up more,” the source said.

“Under her watch, they have homework, chores, activities, strict bedtimes, and no junk food. Blake doesn’t enforce those things, so Gwen is always left looking like the bad cop.”

Gwen is pushing for outside help for their relationship.

Determined to get the relationship back on track, Gwen has reportedly suggested that the pair, who married in 2021, attend couples therapy.

“She’s a big believer in therapy and feels it could really help her and Blake,” the source shared. But it seems that Blake isn’t really interested in letting a “stranger” into their relationship and is pushing back on the idea of therapy.

“He thinks they should be able to work things out on their own.”

There's a fear they're growing apart.

While the kid stuff is a big part of their conflict, the sources say it’s not the only issue the couple is facing. Their lives are going in two different directions and have been for a while.

“They used to do everything together,” the source said, adding that it might have been too much time. But now “they’re both distracted by their work.”

For seven seasons they were on The Voice together, and it gave them something in common. Without being on the show, it seems that they have significantly less in common. “There isn’t much for them to talk about.”

Their differences have become glaringly obvious since Blake left the show after 23 seasons. He is a country boy at heart and enjoys spending his time at their Oklahoma home. Gwen is an LA girl through and through.

“She can put on cowboy boots and sing a country duet with Blake, but Gwen doesn’t really fit in that whole country lifestyle,” the source explained. “Blake’s not really comfortable living in the big city with all the traffic, noise, and crowds.”

Gwen seems to be feeling the change in the relationship more acutely than Blake, which has their friends hoping that they can fix the relationship before it’s too late.

We’re hoping for the best.
