Last week, Eminem shocked his fans by revealing that his 28-year-old daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, is pregnant with her first child in his music video for his song “Temporary.” And now, Hailie is opening up about how she managed to keep the secret for so long — including the way she managed to hide her pregnancy from all of her guests at her wedding in May.

Hailie shared the story on the newest episode of her podcast.
On this week’s edition of her podcast, Just a Little Shady, Hailie and her cohost/BFF Brittany Ednie, were finally able to speak openly about the pregnancy — something that the mom-to-be called “such a relief.”
“You may or may not be tuning in because you could have heard the news that I’m pregnant. Yay! We finally shared it,” Hailie said.
She also revealed that her pregnancy was still a secret at her wedding.
Hailie married longtime boyfriend Evan McClintock in May, and though she was expecting at that point, she didn’t want anyone to find out so soon.
She was worried that her guests might notice that she wasn’t drinking alcohol at her own wedding, so her best friend stepped up to the plate.
Brittany helped Hailie maintain the illusion that she was drinking at the wedding.
“So she was, you know, grabbing a drink, not consuming the drink as a responsible parent does,” Brittany said. “Whenever people were turned around, she would hand me her drink, and I would chug so it looked as if she was continuously drinking throughout that night.”
That meant additional alcohol intake for Brittany, but she was willing to go above and beyond for her friend.

This meant Brittany was drinking a lot of alcoholic lavender lemonades.
If the drink had been anything else, Hailie said that her new husband would have been down to drink it, but because he didn’t like those, it was all up to Brittany, who “took one for the team.” Hailie also noted that she didn’t ask Brittany to do this for her — at least, not out loud.
“Well, then I’ll defend myself, though, because I never really asked you to do it. It was like an unspoken thing with our eyes,” she said.
That’s the kind of best friend everyone needs!
Hailie finally shared her big news on October 3.
After her dad’s music video (which included a clip of Hailie telling Eminem he’s going to be a grandpa) went live, she shared sweet pregnancy announcement photos on Instagram.
She and Evan look so happy. We can’t wait to find out more about her baby-to-be now that the secret is out.
