Halle Bailey is giving us a special peek into her pregnancy. The actress shared a video of her maternity shoot that took place underwater — a sweet connection to playing the role of Ariel in the live-action version of Disney’s The Little Mermaid that hit theaters last year. Although the new mom never revealed her pregnancy amid speculation that she was expecting her first child with her boyfriend DDG, she did share her baby's birth announcement with fans to kick off the new year.

Halle looks like a sea goddess in the photos.
Sharing a video from the shoot on Instagram, Halle wrote that she was "missing my belly already."
In the video, the actress wears a metallic two-piece outfit with flowing sleeves and a floaty skirt, as well as an ethereal wrap. She is surrounded by purple light as she cradles her bump and floats with her arms out.
The photos from the shoot are gorgeous.
Not only did Halle shared some snaps from her underwater shoot in her Instagram Stories, but also the photographer behind the shoot, Brandon Almengo, shared some on his Instagram. In the shots, she is floating under the water and wrapped in a gauzy white fabric.
Fellow stars and fans alike were absolutely in love with the images.

Halle is easing into her postpartum life.
Halle recently opened up in a post on Snapchat about how she is adjusting to her postpartum body. She shared a photo of herself in a nursing bra and shorts with bare feet.
"so this is me rn and i've letting my body heal haven't really started working out yet but i'll show you my goal," she wrote on the photo.
DDG is calling her a 'professional mom.'
In a YouTube video, Halle's boyfriend — and the father of her little one, Halo — praised her mom skills.
"Me and Halle had a baby together. I wouldn't chose no other person in the world to have a child with. We learning. She's a great mom. Like it's crazy. She's amazing," he said.
