In an Instagram post, Harry's mom said Liam was 'just a boy.'

Harry’s mom, Anne Twist, reacted to Liam’s death on Instagram in a simple yet heartbreaking tribute. She shared a large broken heart emoji as an image, and captioned it with, “Just a boy … 💔”

Reacting to Anne’s heartfelt post, one person wrote, “My heart aches. Poor Liam. Sending you, the boys, and Liam’s family love. Just heartbreaking.” Another person commented, “Gone too soon and so young. Forever in our hearts Liam.”

Niall's brother has also reacted to the news.

Per The Independent, Niall Horan’s brother, Greg Horan, also was shocked and heartbroken after learning of Liam’s death. On Instagram, he wrote, “To say I’m heartbroken is an understatement.”

He added, “you will be forever missed Liam words can’t describe how much I want to grab my brother and mind him now while the world shows their memories of you and him and the boys.”

Zayn's younger sister Waliyha says she's 'heartbroken.'

Other relatives of former One Direction members have reacted to Liam’s death on social media. One of Zayn’s sisters, Waliyha, 26, shared several photos of Liam and Zayn via her Instagram Stories. In one post, she shared, “Literally heartbroken. RIP. I have no words.”

Liam's family has released a statement.

Liam’s loved ones are requesting privacy as they grieve. “We are heartbroken. Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul,” the statement read, per NBC News. “We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.”

Liam rose to fame after he auditioned for The X Factor for the second time. It was on that reality show that One Direction came to be. A statement shared by The X Factor on X (formerly Twitter) described Liam as “immensely talented.”

“We are heartbroken by the sad passing of Liam Payne,” the statement reads. “He was immensely talented and, as part of One Direction, Liam will leave a lasting legacy on the music industry and fans around the world. Our thoughts are with his friends, family and all who loved him.”
