Things have not been easy for the Baldwin family since they learned that Alec Baldwin would be facing charges for his role in the 2021 shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. News broke January 19 that the actor would face charges, and it seems the family has been struggling ever since.
Hilaria opened up on her podcast about how her family is coping.
The new mom took a moment to give her support network a shout-out during a recent episode of her Witches Anonymous podcast before delving into her husband's latest legal trouble and how she manages to continue parenting through these difficult and turbulent times. At this point, what the future holds for them (and especially for Alec) is a huge question mark.
Alec is facing manslaughter charges.
"It's been an emotional time for my family, and I do so want to express to you how grateful I am for your support and your kindness and your reason," the Boston native told her listeners.
"Quite honestly, I think without it, we would crumble, so thank you so much for being our rock right now because I don't feel so strong."
Alec could end up spending some time behind bars.
In October 2021, a gun Alec was holding went off, striking Halyna and another person on the set of his movie Rust, killing Halyna and wounding the other person as a result.
The ensuing investigation seemed to uncover gross negligence, and three people, including Alec, were expected to be charged as a result.
Formal charges are expected to be filed on Tuesday.
The district attorney in New Mexico announced the office's plan to charge Alec with involuntary manslaughter. Because the death involved a gun, the actor may face additional charges, which could see him behind bars for several years.
Obviously this, along with the increased attention, has been hard for the Baldwins, who welcomed their seventh child in September 2022.
Hilaria even lashed out at reporters.
In the days following the news that Alec would be charged, Hilaria admonished reportersfor following her and her children around while reporters were attempting to get a comment about the legal trouble.
We can't even begin to imagine how hard this has to be on the pair's children right now. Hopefully they're keeping the kids as far away from the news as they can.
