Hilary Duff Admits To Following Gwyneth Paltrow’s Strict Diet & ‘Starving Off’ Her Hunger

Not everyone is a critic of Gwyneth Paltrow's controversial diet. Hilary Duff recently revealed that she follows the self-proclaimed wellness guru's advice when it comes to keeping hunger pangs away by kicking off the day with nothing but a cup of black coffee.

Hilary made the surprise confession while chatting with model Molly Sims.

The How I Met Your Father star shared her diet plans on Tuesday's episode of the Lipstick on the Rim podcast. Hilary says she "wake[s] up really hungry, prompting her to reach for a cup of coffee first so that she can "starve off" her hunger until she later noshes on something more substantial.

Sometimes she'll grab a few of her favorite snacks as well.

When it comes to actual food, Hilary says she's "obsessed with those cauliflower rounds," which she likes to toss into the air fryer, calling the snack "super clean."

She then tops them with either a fried egg, egg salad, avocado, or sometimes even a vegan sausage. Yum.

Don't let Hilary's 'clean' eating fool you at all.

The mother of three is just like the rest of us when it comes to snacking on whatever's available — especially while making food for her kids.

"If we're being honest, yeah, I eat a chicken nugget in the morning while I'm packing lunches and there’s one left over," she admitted. "Pop it down the hatch!"

Hilary prioritizes being active, too.

Not only is she busy chasing her kids — Banks Violet Bair, Mae James Bair, and Luca Cruz Comrie — but she also teams up with her trainer for some high-intensity interval training.

Fans don't seem quite as bothered by Hilary's confession as they did when Gwyneth revealed everything she eats in a day.

While talking to Dear Media earlier this year, Gwyneth admitted that she mostly relies on black coffee, bone broth, and steamed veggies to get her through the day. Her statements shocked people online and left her with a brand-new nickname: the mother of all almond moms.

Although Hilary's plan to keep from snacking early in the morning by filling up with coffee does share some similarities with Gwyn's plans, we can't imagine the Goop founder ever popping a chicken nugget in her mouth. Hilary sounds less almond mom-ish and more like the rest of us who hope a cup of coffee can help us make it through a busy morning until we have time to actually fuel up with the foods we love.
