Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production president let the cat out of the bag over the weekend.

Sean Bailey shared the happy news on Sunday while talking about some of the upcoming live-action projects the company would be working on.

Sean told The New York Times how the studio had already begun developing the new film.

We have a hunch some of the original stars will return.

The original headliners — Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker — have all expressed interest in picking back up where their characters left off.

Hopefully there aren't any scheduling conflicts this time. We know that some of the stars of the original Hocus Pocus weren't able to return for the second installment because their schedules didn't work out.

Bette has said she's open to returning as many times as the studio would let her.

In a September interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bette gushed over how much she enjoyed her time as Winifred Sanderson.

"I've always been envious of people who get to do their favorite character more than once," she said at the time. "I'd love to have a franchise — especially a character I love playing."

It seems like fans feel the same way since Hocus Pocus 2 broke streaming records for Disney+ when it first dropped.

Apparently Kathy already has an idea for how the third movie should play out.

During that same interview, Sarah revealed how her other costar had already figured out a way to bring the sisters back again.

"Kathy had a good idea that the third one should be animated," she revealed. "That would be cool and a smart idea. It's fun, funny, and could be interesting and innovative, like old-fashioned or new [animation] … Of course I'd be happy to have a conversation [for a third film], it just depends on what Kathy and Bette want!"

Honestly, we love the idea of a cartoon version!

We'll probably have to be patient for a bit.

If the film has only just entered development, it doesn't seem likely that we'll be getting a chance to re-enter the world of the Sandersons for Halloween 2023.

That being said, we shouldn't have to wait too long this time around. While it did take 30 years to get a sequel, we're pretty sure fans will be headed back to Salem and running amok in no time!
