James recently shared photos from his cruise vacation.
On his Instagram Stories, James shared a photo taken from inside a Carnival Cruise ship, which was surprising given that he's also been traveling around Europe this year, along with a visit to Israel.
He's definitely been busy lately, to say the least!
He even spent time in California earlier this month.
Joined by his older sister, Jana, it seems that James, 21, also went to visit Jinger and Jeremy in California and shared this video of the homemade pizza they were making together. As fans online have pointed out, it seems like James has spent most of 2023 away from home so far.
Duggar critics already have theories about what's going on with James.
According to The Sun, fans on Reddit believe that James has been kicked out of the family home, and some even think Jim Bob and Michelle are financially sponsoring his trips so he will stay away.
"I feel like Jim and Michelle are letting him be free since he’s the weird one," one person wrote.
Others think it's just a sign of Jim Bob losing control. "I'm suspecting that he has more personal freedom, and Jim Bob is slowly losing control of how many adults he can keep under his wing at all times," someone else commented.
James recently moved out.
In a YouTube video he posted in December, James shared a glimpse of the place he's been living, which looks a lot like a windowless warehouse that appears to be on his parents' property.
At his age, even living in a shoebox would be appealing if it got him out from underneath his parents' thumbs, but still, this is pretty bleak!

Hopefully, everything is OK with James.
It would be sad to know that he was staying away from home to avoid something — or worse, that he was being told to stay away.
There's always a chance he's just enjoying the freedom that comes with being in his early 20s and living his best life, and in that case, good for him! He will likely never have the chance to travel like this again, so it's great to see him making the most of it.
