Less than two weeks after former reality star Jana Duggar married Stephen Wissmann, her younger brother, Jason Duggar, is officially engaged. Jason proposed Maddie Grace, whose relationship he soft-launched in May. And their engagement photos are seriously the sweetest.
Jason is the 12th-born child of Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar's 19 kids. Those who tuned into TLC's Counting On and 19 Kids and Counting likely remember him as one of the younger boys. But today, he's 24 and preparing to say, "I do."

Jason Duggar and Maddie Grace announced their engagement via Instagram.
On August 30, Jason and Maddie shared a joint post via Instagram with the photographer for their engagement photos.
"On 8/24, Jase asked me to marry him, and I could not be more excited!!" Maddie wrote in the caption. "Thank you @kaylajohnsonphoto_ for capturing this special moment so beautifully #spring2025."
Their engagement photos were seriously the sweetest.
In the featured image, Maddie rested her hand on Jason's chest as they stared deeply into each other's eyes while standing at a beach. Candles and flowers surrounded the lovebirds, while an elaborate display of red roses formed a heart behind them. A sign that read, "Will You Marry Me?" was positioned inside the heart. Other pictures showed the newly engaged couple hugging and smiling for the camera, while one featured Jason down on one knee.
In the comments, family and friends reacted to the big news.
"She said yes!!❤️ ," Jason exclaimed in the comments."
Meanwhile, cousin Amy Duggar King (Jim Bob's niece) wrote, "Congratulations Jason!"
Carlin Bates, a Duggar family friend, commented, "All the roses congratulations you two ❤️."

Others couldn't help but point out Jason and Maddie hugging in one photo.
Plenty of other Instagram users honed in on a particular detail in one of the engagement pictures. In the third photo, Jason and Maddie were seemingly "front-hugging" — a blatant violation of the Duggar courtship rules that only permit side-hugs until marriage.
"That’s no side hug ," one person wrote.
Another Instagram user commented, "Nope no side hugs for the boys," pointing out a perceived double standard.
"They definitely been kissy facing lol but good for them!!" someone else declared.
Still, others were confused that Maddie already changed her last name to Duggar on Instagram.
Other eagle-eyed fans saw that Maddie's Instagram handle is @maddiegraceduggar, prompting them to wonder why she already changed her name.
"Since your last name says Duggar, are you already married??" one fan asked.
Another inquired, "Is this just a proposal? Why is her name 'Duggar' already?"
To that, a different Instagram user replied, "It isn't legally. She just snatched up the instagram name."
As Jason and Maddie's hashtag revealed, they are planning a spring 2025 wedding — and we can't wait to see the photos!
