A year after Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner decided to go their separate ways, the former couple is finally able to close this chapter of their lives together. As of this week, Joe and Sophie's divorce has been finalized, which means they're both officially single again. But after how contentious the early weeks and months of the process were, it sounds like they decided to do something differently now that a judge has signed off on their split.

Joe and Sophie's divorce was finalized on September 6.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Joe and Sophie have been able to come to a settlement agreement, which has been signed off on by a judge. The terms of their divorce, however, are being kept confidential, so we don't know much else, which makes sense, considering they likely want to protect the privacy of their two young daughters, Willa and Delphine.
A judge agreed that the marriage is 'irretrievably broken.'
People reported that the documents state that the agreement the former couple was able to come to is "in the best interests of the parties and this family," and they have been able to waive the 20-day waiting period for a final judgment.
"The marriage between the parties is dissolved and the parties are restored to the status of being single," the documents read.
The news comes over a year after Joe and Sophie's split was made public.
Following rumors that the two had broken up, Joe and Sophie shared a joint statement on Instagram confirming that they had decided to go their separate ways in September 2023.
"After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage," the statement read. "There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."
Coming to a settlement hasn't been easy.
Back in March, Sophie filed paperwork to "reactivate" their divorce after the couple put a pause on the proceedings while they attempted to reach a settlement. Fortunately, it looks like they've been able to agree on something since then.

Both Joe and Sophie have moved on.
Joe has been linked to more than one potential new girlfriend over the past year, and Sophie appears to be dating a British aristocrat named Peregrine Pearson. Meanwhile, Joe is gearing up to release a solo album in October, and Sophie's upcoming TV series, Joan, will premiere on The CW this fall.
