Now that HGTV star Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel have been together for nearly four years, he's opening up about what it's like to spend so much time around her children. While talking to Today, Jonathan said that he "enjoys every minute" of being a "bonus dad" to her son and daughter.
Zooey is a mom of two
He even thinks Zooey's ex is "wonderful"
And judging by this photo that Zooey shared of Jonathan, Jacob, and the kids together in honor of Father's Day 2022, we believe him!
While co-parenting can be challenging, Jonathan said that he and Zooey "enjoy every minute" of it with Jacob.
He still remembers the moment he felt like he really connected with Elsie and Charlie
"Our youngest came back from school with a picture that he had drawn, and in the picture, he has Mommy and Daddy and Jonathan and his sister and our puppies. He had drawn this whole picture. This is his happy family," he said.
Jonathan added, "I think that was when I was like, that's pretty sweet, because the way we think of it is, he has the benefit of a 'bonus dad.' How cool is that? You have more people that love you."

As far as we can tell, it certainly seems like Jonathan and Zooey are both in it for the long haul, and Charlie and Elsie are two lucky kids for having so many people in their lives who love them.
