Two weeks after Jordyn Woods‘ wedding to NBA player Karl-Anthony Towns, she’s opening up about one of the wedding guests who was nearest and dearest to her heart. As longtime friends, of course Jaden Smith was in attendance at the ceremony.
But if anyone had any questions about why the 28-year-old was posing for photos as part of the bridal party, Jordyn’s now explaining everything. At this point, they go back so far he might as well have been one of her bridesmaids.
Jaden was by Jordyn’s side on her big day.
The videos and photos from the wedding that Jordyn has shared so far show Jaden front and center in the biggest moments, including posing for portraits and partying during the reception.
He might be Jordyn’s friend, but it wasn’t just her day he made extra special — he came to the wedding equipped with a gift for the groom, too. As Jaden revealed in a post on Instagram about the wedding, he also brought Karl a pair of custom size 20 Christian Louboutins — a major perk of being the brand’s men’s creative director.
“My Best Friend Got Married And I Made Karl Size 20 Red Bottoms,” Jaden wrote. “Jordyn I Love You So Much Congratulations Karl I Love You Bro Keep The Swag On High.”
Jordyn shared the sweetest TikTok about their friendship.
Sharing photos both from the wedding and of her and Jaden growing up from the time they were tiny (and very adorable) babies in a TikTok video, she wrote in text on the video, “Why is Jaden with all of the girls?”
At the end of the video, she included more text of her answer: “Because he’s never missed an important moment of my life.”
In her caption, Jordyn continues, “So grateful to have the epitome of a day ONE. From diapers to marriage. I can’t wait for his wedding one day but until then 🤣!!! He’s never missed a birthday, showing up at my dads funeral and making us all laugh, to now getting married. I’m so lucky I’ve never had to know a life without our friendship.”
The Woods and the Smiths go way back.
As E! News pointed out, Jordyn’s late father, John Woods, worked as a sound engineer on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, so he met Jaden’s dad Will Smith decades ago, and that led to their family being close ever since. Jordyn really did grow up with Jaden and his sister, Willow, and now, they’re all taking on adulthood together, too.
It’s sweet to see the way their bond has lasted all of these years, and there’s no doubt Jordyn will be there to return the favor if Jaden finds himself walking down the aisle someday.
