Josh Duggar Gets His Prison Release Date Pushed Back After Cellphone Violation

So much for being a model inmate. Josh Duggar's recent jailhouse infraction is going to hit him where it hurts. According to Without a Crystal Ball's Katie Joy, Josh's prison sentence has been extended after he was caught with an illegal cellphone.

Josh is still living in a separate housing unit after getting busted in February.

Katie was the first to report that Josh had been remanded to a Special Housing Unit earlier this year. Although details weren't exactly clear at the start — there was speculation Josh could have been doing anything from fighting with his fellow inmates to getting caught having sex with another man — we eventually learned that the former reality star had been taken to the solitary quarters as punishment for having a contraband cellphone.

The father of seven is still waiting to learn his fate.

Getting caught with contraband is a big no-no, which is why Josh faced such a swift punishment. Being removed from the general population, however, was just the beginning for the disgraced 19 Kids and Counting alum. Katie said the Bureau of Prisons already has started rolling out punishments and pushed back his August 2032 release date.

Katie explained that Josh may be in more trouble than that.

"While he awaits his judgment for the offense, the BOP has taken 10 days of 'good time' from Josh's sentence," she explained in an Instagram post, referring to possible other punishments. "In July, WOACB reported that Josh's scheduled release was August 12, 2032. The date represents 85% of his sentence and the soonest he would be released."

Now, Katie is reporting that Josh won't have a shot at freedom until August 22, 2032, at the very earliest.

He may not even get out by that date.

If Josh continues to mess up, he could get his release date pushed back even further.

"As he progresses in his sentence, the date can change if he gets in trouble," Katie's post continued. "Given Josh has only been at Seagoville for nine months, his sentence is expected to change multiple times."

That has to be hard news for his wife, Anna Duggar, who is at home raising their seven children by herself.

It seems that Josh has been unable to keep a promise he made to the judge.

Katie concluded her post by reminding her followers that Josh had promised to be a "model inmate" and "never get in trouble" during his time behind bars. But it seems like he is struggling to keep up his end of the bargain fairly early into his 12-year sentence, and that doesn't bode well for him. We have a hunch this isn't the last we're going to hear of Josh's prison problems.
