Joy-Anna Duggar Slammed for ‘Exploiting’ Daughter With ‘Clickbait’ Videos

How much information is too much information? Fans are accusing Joy-Anna Duggar of oversharing to the point of exploitation after she made a video for YouTube about her daughter Evelyn’s recent health scare. This isn’t the first time people have accused her of using her young children to get attention and clicks without their consent. And according to some fans, Joy made the whole situation bigger than it needed to be and then put it on social media for public consumption, turning her 3-year-old daughter's health into content.

Joy-Anna's new vlog has people up in arms.

The video, titled "Rushing Evelyn to the Hospital Before her Birthday," makes it sound like something potentially serious was happening to the preschooler.

Joy had already alluded to Evelyn being sick for her birthday in her birthday post for her middle child, and now, it looked like she was giving more details.

The video quickly took on a more serious tone.

In the video, we see Joy taking the little girl to the hospital after husband Austin Forsyth told her that their daughter had been experiencing stomach pains and was also spiking a fever.

Joy provides updates from the hospital as the video switches back and forth between color and a more dramatic black and white tone while they’re in the hospital.

Turns out, Evelyn's condition wasn't very serious.

During their time at the hospital, Joy expresses her fear that Evelyn may have appendicitis. But once an X-ray was done, Evelyn was given an all clear for anything serious.

"It's just poop," she said, appearing relieved.

Of course, people were not happy with the video.

Fans took to a popular Duggar snark subreddit to voice their displeasure with the way Joy presented the video and Evelyn’s health. "Clickbait titles about your minor children = no f—-ng thank you," the post was titled.

Many commenters agreed that using such an inflammatory title was messed up.

"Yeah the amount of videos she posts of her kids sick, scared, or crying is truly offputting,” one person wrote.

"I’m sure Evie will be humiliated in the future when she finds out her mom posted about the state of her intestines for the whole world to see," another commenter wrote.

Joy's critics certainly didn't hold back.

"Jesus Joy, there is no reason to pimp out your kids for clicks and money," one Redditor replied. "This is going to blow up in your face."

"I have not watched — I assume that everything is A-OK or they wouldn't have posted this," another added. "But I really hope that when these kids get old enough, they sue for 1) earnings for the many, many videos they were in without their informed consent and 2) the cost of therapy."

Add this to the never-ending list of Duggar parenting blunders.
