The Kardashians are known for their extravagant parties, but at this point, some critics think they could tone it down a bit — at least for Easter. On Easter Sunday, the kiddos in the Kardashian-Jenner family enjoyed an Easter egg hunt and pottery painting. What stood out, though, were the luxury items in the family’s Easter baskets.
A photo showed an Easter basket with a Louis Vuitton pouch.
Several members of the Kardashian-Jenner family shared photos of the Easter festivities on social media. Via her Instagram Stories, Kylie Jenner showed off an Easter basket, which had a Louis Vuitton bag in it. Per Page Six, the unreleased Louis Vuitton x Murakami cosmetic pouch is priced at $845. Another photo of an Easter basket showed a pair of sneakers. It’s unclear how many people received the Louis Vuitton pouches or other extravagant Easter gifts, but that didn’t stop people from calling the family out for their over-the-top celebration.
To some critics, the thought of receiving an unreleased Louis Vuitton bag for Easter seemed “so crazy.”
“Honestly it would be so nice if they used one holiday to forego the excessive gifts and taught the kids to give back to the community,” one critic argued. “Like this is just ridiculous for Easter.”
Kim Kardashian’s dress also garnered a lot of backlash.
While other members of the family opted for a more casual look, Kim chose to wear a bejeweled dress for her family’s Easter celebrations. Photos the Skims founder shared on social media showed her standing beside her loved ones while wearing a Miu Miu gown that costs $14,400, per Page Six.
Reacting to Kim’s Easter outfit on Reddit, one person wrote, “Meanwhile, the rest of the country was ‘dyeing’ plastic eggs to keep traditions alive because regular eggs were not affordable.”
Another person pointed out that Kim didn’t seem concerned about spending the day around several young children while wearing such an expensive gown. “Yes child, please come sit on my $14k dress. No worries!” the commenter wrote.
Noting that Kim looked completely “out of place,” a third critic compared her to 18th century French queen, Marie Antoinette.
Several others were perplexed by the fashion choice. “Everybody else was on theme and comfortable, why couldn’t Kim?” one person wondered.
Recently, critics called out the Kardashians for another lavish gift.
People have been tired of the family’s frequent displays of wealth for quite some time. Most recently, the Kardashians garnered criticism when they gave their friend Lauren Sánchez an expensive gift after her Blue Origin trip. Lauren tagged Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, and Kim Kardashian in a post about her “out of this world” gift: a Judith Leiber UFO Orbiter bag. The bag costs about $7,000. After seeing the post, one critic wrote, “The rich are truly on a Marie Antoinette speed run.”
