Kat Von D Shares Video of Her Baptism After Renouncing Witchcraft

When it comes to her spirituality, this celebrity mom is starting fresh. One year after Kat Von D announced on Instagram that she was renouncing witchcraft and getting rid of all of her books and memorabilia related to the occult arts, she is now sharing a new milestone in her journey. This week, the famed tattoo artist took to Instagram to share a video of her baptism with her followers, where she was surrounded by her family, including her son, 4-year-old Leafar.

Kat shared the video, set to choir music and filmed inside a church.

During the video, we can see her friends and family seated in the church awaiting Kat's big moment. Then, dressed in a white robe, the 41-year-old is joined in a baptismal tub by a pastor.

"Katherine von Drachenberg, upon your profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in obedience to his divine command, I baptize you, my sister, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," the pastor said.

Then, we see Kat dunked in the water as everyone in the church applauds.

Kat has made a lot of changes over the last few years.

One of the biggest was leaving California to move to Indiana in 2020, closing her famous studio, High Voltage Tattoo, in the process.

"With all that has been taking place in California with terrible policies, tyrannical government overreach, ridiculous taxing, amongst so much more corruption, we just felt the need to plant roots in a small town where there is nature, where my son can be free to play, and where we can eventually retire one day," Kat shared on her Instagram Stories at the time, via Insider.

She revealed last year that she was moving away from her love of the macabre.

In July, Kat took to Instagram to share a photo of a stack of books she was getting rid of that didn't "align with who I am and who I want to be." The books seemed to cover topics such as mysticism and witchcraft, and she seemed to be getting rid of tarot cards at the same time.

She wanted to surround her family with 'love and light' instead.

"I just don’t want to invite any of these things into our family’s lives, even if it comes disguised in beautiful covers, collecting dust on my shelves," Kat wrote, adding, "right now, it’s never been more clear to me that there is a spiritual battle taking place, and I want to surround myself and my family with love and light."

She seems to be happy with her lifestyle changes.

She, husband Rafael Reyes (known as Leafar Seyer) and their son all seem to be enjoying their new home in Indiana, and now, she's starting a new spiritual life as well. Maybe the next step is opening up a tattoo studio in her new town?
