It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 17 years since we were first introduced to Kate Gosselin and her family. Kate was once the go-to reality TV mom and one of reality TV’s earliest villains. After her 2009 divorce from Jon Gosselin, Kate continued to appear in shows such as Dancing with the Stars and Kate Plus 8. But now, it seems like now she's struggling. In fact, some sources claimed that she's "living paycheck to paycheck," and she's still not in contact with two of her kids, Collin and Hannah.

Kate Gosselin is living a very different life now.
"She’s fallen quite a ways from being one of the country’s top reality stars," a source told InTouch Weekly in October 2023 about what Kate is doing now. After fading from the spotlight, Kate moved to Troutman, North Carolina, where she now reportedly "lives paycheck to paycheck." She apparently got a multistate nursing license in 2021, hoping to go back to her pre-fame career.
The insider also said that Kate admitted she "borrowed" $100,000 from her kids’ trust fund to pay her living expenses.
"There hasn’t been a glam squad for a very long time, so Kate looks totally different," the source added.
Things have become very 'quiet' for her.
According to the source, Kate does still occasionally get recognized from her time on reality TV, "but it’s not always positive. Kate continues to get a lot of hate from people. She doesn’t have it so easy."
"Kate is currently living a very quiet and boring life in North Carolina. She doesn’t date and has very few friends – actually, her best friends are pretty much her kids," the source claimed, adding that Kate "stays home a lot, watches a lot of TV."
Her twins are all grown up and living on their own.
Her kids may be her best friends, but at this point, Kate is likely feeling the reality of the empty nest. Her twin daughters, Mady and Cara, are 23 and have graduated from college. Both girls live in New York City — Mady works for a skin care company, and Cara works as a financial analyst.
We don't know much about what is going on now with the sextuplets who lived with Kate.
Not much is known about the sextuplets, but they’re now 20 and have all graduated from high school. In recent years, the broken relationship between Kate and son Collin has made headlines after Collin spoke out about his mistreatment at the hands of his mother, including her putting him in a facility as she felt she could no longer handle his alleged mental health problems.

Kate's relationship with Collin is still nonexistent.
Collin, who has lived with his father Jon since 2018, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He doesn't appear to have a relationship with any of his siblings aside from Hannah.
"Mady backed up Kate’s claims about Collin," the source told In Touch. "Some of the others thought their brother’s personal issues should not have been discussed."
Kate also has a 'strained' relationship with daughter Hannah.
Kate also has a very strained relationship with sextuplet Hannah, who was also in Jon’s custody before turning 18. "Hannah has worked hard to have a relationship with her mother, but sadly Kate has never treated Hannah well after she went to live with her father," a source told The U.S. Sun.
Their relationship only got worse after Hannah and Collin spoke about their childhoods on Vice's Dark Side of the 2000s Jon & Kate Plus 8: Family Circus. Despite Kate’s reaction, now that the sextuplets are older than 18, the source claimed Hannah "will continue to try to build healthy relationships with her siblings."
