It seems that Kate Middleton is definitely on the road to recovery. Nearly two weeks after Kensington Palace announced that the Princess of Wales would be taking time off from her royal duties after having a "planned abdominal surgery," they're sharing another update — and this time, it seems to be a positive one. Kate has left the hospital and is returning home to recover, though the palace is still remaining tight-lipped about the specifics of it all.

The palace shared an update on Monday morning.
In a post that was shared on Kate and Prince William's official social media account, the palace revealed that the princess was "making good progress" after her surgery.
"The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress. The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided," the statement read. "The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world."
Not much is known about Kate's surgery.

Of course, plenty of royal watchers are worried about the princess because the palace has said that she won't be returning to royal duties until after the Easter holidays, which suggests that the surgery must have been quite serious. But according to what a source close to the situation has told People, Kate is simply being "sensible" by taking so much time off.
"That is a great example to the rest of us, as you’re often told to get back to work as soon as possible, which can be damaging. It is good for all of us to see her taking the time, recovering properly and then coming back. We can all learn from that," said the insider.
She's not the only one who's broken out of the hospital this week.
King Charles was admitted to the same hospital as Kate, The London Clinic, last week for a surgery to treat an enlarged prostate, and he was able to go home on Monday, too.
"The King was this afternoon discharged from hospital following planned medical treatment and has rescheduled forthcoming public engagements to allow for a period of private recuperation," read a statement from Buckingham Palace, via Good Morning America. "His Majesty would like to thank the medical team and all those involved in supporting his hospital visit, and is grateful for all the kind messages he has received in recent days."
Both Kate and Charles have been receiving a couple of key visitors during their hospital stays.
Not only has Prince William been seen going back and forth to support his wife after her surgery, but Camilla also has been spotted coming and going from The London Clinic in recent days. And ahead of his own surgery, Charles even popped in to check on Kate.

Here's hoping they both have smooth recoveries.

Any kind of medical procedure can be scary, and for two people who are as passionate about their jobs as Kate and Charles both seem to be, taking time off to recover can be tough.
Fingers crossed they're both getting plenty of rest and will be able to get back to their regular royal schedules soon.
