Queen Camilla Makes Multiple Visits to Hospital To See King Charles & Kate Middleton

Britain's Queen Camilla was doing double duty when it came to royal hospital visits this week. The 76-year-old wife of King Charles was spotted leaving The London Clinic multiple times this week, taking time to visit both Charles and daughter-in-law Kate Middleton, who were both recovering in the same hospital following their respective surgeries.

The king was admitted to the hospital ahead of a planned surgery on Friday to treat a benign enlarged prostate. His surgery had been announced in advance, on January 17, mere hours after Kensington Palace announced that Kate Middleton had been admitted to the hospital on January 16. The unusual timing of having two prominent members of the Royal family in the hospital at the same time likely means that Queen Camilla wasn't the only one making multiple trips to The London Clinic this week.

Charles checked on Kate before his own surgery.

According to The Daily Mail, there have been a number of royal visits to the hospital this week. Charles stopped in to check on Kate prior to his own surgery, and Camilla was spotted making three visits to the hospital in a 24 hour period once the king had arrived for his scheduled procedure. The BBC reported that Prince William also had been spotted leaving the hospital after visiting his wife earlier in the week.

King Charles said to be 'doing well' following his surgery.

Following her visit to the hospital, Camilla told supporters, "He's fine, thank you" as she entered a waiting car. This optimistic report echos an official statement from Buckingham Palace on Friday morning. People magazine reported palace officials stated that "The King was this morning admitted to a London hospital for scheduled treatment. His Majesty would like to thank all those who have sent their good wishes over the past week and is delighted to learn that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness."

Although the public was informed that Kate would likely have an extended hospital stay of up to two weeks, it has not yet been reported how long Charles may be hospitalized.

King Charles and Kate Middleton are not the only members of the family dealing with health issues.

Earlier this week, Sarah Ferguson announced that she was recovering from treatment for a recently diagnosed malignant melanoma.

She shared on Instagram that she has "been taking some time to myself as I have been diagnosed with malignant melanoma, a form of skin cancer, my second cancer diagnosis within a year after I was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer and underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. It was thanks to the great vigilance of my dermatologist that the melanoma was detected when it was. Naturally another cancer diagnosis has been a shock but I’m in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support."

The relationship between Harry and other members of the royal family has been complicated in recent years, but The Standard reported that the California-based couple have reportedly sent get well messages to both Charles and Kate.

Both Charles and Kate will be taking time off from royal duties as they recover from their medical issues.
