Going into the new year, Kate Middleton has her eye on the prize — and that means she's reportedly a lot less worried about what Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are up to all the way in the States. According to what one royal insider says, Kate has "moved on" from the drama with Meghan, and apparently, she's using that freed up space in her brain to think about other, more important things – namely, the future of the monarchy. For a woman who's going to be queen someday, this seems like the right move.

Kate's ready to focus on the future.
A source close to the royals told People that any lingering drama with Meghan and Harry isn't something Kate is willing to worry herself about now.
"She's moved on and William has too. She's very focused on what matters going forward. They aren't looking back," shared the source, who claims to be a friend of Kate's.
Kate wants to make sure she's prepared to lead.
Now that she's had time to settle in with her new title of Princess of Wales, Kate knows that people look to her as a "player at the center of team Windsor," and it sounds like she's truly not willing to let the team down.
"She takes things seriously — and thank goodness for that," another insider said.
Experts say Kate is tougher than she seems.
Although Kate's persona frames her as a warm, kind person, as much as that may be true, on the inside, she's a lot more "strong-willed" than some might believe, according to royal author Valentine Low.
"She has this public image of being nice and smiley and, dare I say, innocuous," Low told People. "But she is actually strong-minded, strong-willed and prepared to fight for what she wants and what she thinks is right."

The year ahead could be a big one for Kate.
As People has reported, Kate may have some international travel on the agenda in 2024 and will continue focusing on the causes most important to her, such as her initiatives focused on early childhood development.
"They’re extremely supportive of each other and each other’s work. William takes huge pride in what Kate’s achieving from an early years perspective and likewise, she’s a huge follower in what the prince has done this year on Homewards and Earthshot," a royal source told the magazine.
For Kate, it seems the past is in the past.
Now we just have to find out if that means that she's willing to forgive and forget when it comes to Harry and Meghan – or if that relationship will continue to fade into the background altogether. But with or without these fellow royal family members being a part of things, it seems Kate has a busy 2024 ahead.
