A family resemblance between a parent and their child is nothing shocking, but sometimes that resemblance can be a bit uncanny. After Kate Middleton posted a childhood photo of herself on social media to celebrate the holiday season, fans can’t help but marvel at how much her youngest son, Prince Louis, looks like her. The precocious youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales is well-known for his antics in public, but now we can see that his face is all his mom. Down to the lush dark hair, you can’t deny how much the 5-year-old is truly Kate's mini-me.

This is the first time we've seen the photo from the Middletons' personal collection.
"Sharing some festive memories this Christmas because #ShapingUs is all about the vital importance of our early years and the role played by those around us in shaping the rest of our lives," she wrote in the caption of the photo.
This image, never seen by the public, was taken in December of 1983, when Kate would have been nearly 2 years old.
Tiny Kate was so very sweet.
In the photo, the royal-to-be sits in a dark wooden chair at a table covered in a white tablecloth. She is wearing a blue dress with a white collar and a dark blue cardigan over it. Kate is also wearing a colorful beaded necklace, and her dark hair is short with soft waves.

The resemblance between Kate and Louis is uncanny.

Followers couldn’t help but call out the obvious similarities between the princess and her littlest prince, with many calling him her twin.
"Little Louie is a dead ringer for the Princess! Wow!" one commenter wrote.
"I think we can all agree Louis is the splitting image of his mother … the Middleton gene is visible," another person added.
Kate used the photo to promote a mission close to her heart.
The Princess of Wales shared the photo as a part of her ongoing Shaping Us campaign, which aims to put a focus on the needs of children younger than 5 and those who care for them. Hoping to unite kindergarten teachers, midwives, developmental experts and academics, the effort helps to highlight the importance of a child’s earliest years of life.
Shaping Us is celebrating the holiday season with a Christmas concert.

Shaping Us was the inspiration for Kate's Christmas carol concert earlier this month, which will air on British television on Christmas Eve. As a way to promote the upcoming holiday concert and to encourage people to engage with her campaign, Kate also asked others to share their earliest holiday photos like she did.
