Earlier this month, Kate Middleton revealed that she has completed chemotherapy, a happy update for those who have been following along with the Princess of Wales’ cancer journey. But just because she’s done with treatment doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s going back to the way her life was before she was diagnosed earlier this year. In fact, one royal expert believes that the way Kate presents herself publicly will never be the same again.

Kate has recently returned to working — at her own pace.
Though she hasn’t made any official appearances since she finished treatment, Kate is getting back into her old routine. As People reported, that includes planning the Christmas carol service she’s been hosting every holiday season for the last few years, which she dove into at a meeting at Windsor Castle last week.
It’s a great sign that she’s feeling better, but it doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll see her out and about with Prince William anytime soon.
One royal expert is convinced that things will never go back to what was normal for Kate before cancer.
As royal expert Daniela Elser wrote for News.com.au (via The New York Post), this new phase of Kate’s life could mean that her “public appearances remain at a fraction of what they used to be.”
Because Kate has only committed to a couple of royal engagements between now and the end of the year so far — the Christmas concert in December and the Remembrance Sunday service in November — that may truly be all she plans to do before 2025 is here.
Daniela claims that Kate and William are making a 'pronounced shift in their communications strategy.'
Rather than making those public appearances she once made several times a week, Kate is now speaking directly to the people via social media for the first time. Between the video where she revealed her cancer diagnosis, speaking directly to the camera (and the world), and the one where she shared that her treatment was complete, she included more personal peeks into her life with her family and children.
This isn’t something Kate has done before, and Daniela believes Kate might prefer to communicate with people this way.

Daniela predicts a major spike in Kate's social media presence.
This might mean less in-person appearances but seeing Kate more in a different way.
“We could see far more offerings like not only her cancer-related videos, but also like the nearly two-minute, polished and professional clip put out by Kate’s office last December of she and her three young children visiting a baby bank,” Daniela said.
It would make sense if Kate wants to keep laying low for a while.
With everything she’s been through this year, it wouldn’t be surprising if she wanted to return to work gradually and stick close to home more than she has in the past — or if she wants to spend more time with her children after the family has moved through such a tough season in their lives.
Whenever Kate’s ready, we can’t wait to see what she’ll do next.
