Kate Middleton Reportedly Resents Meghan Markle for Being Denied Final Goodbye With Queen

In the final moments of Queen Elizabeth's life, many of her family members were able to gather at Balmoral to say goodbye to her before she died on September 8 … except for Kate Middleton. And now, it seems that Kate resents Meghan Markle for not being able to have that moment with her beloved grandmother-in-law.

In the hours before the Queen's death was made public, the palace confirmed that senior royals including Prince William, King Charles, and Camilla had traveled to the family's Scottish estate to say their goodbyes.

At the time, Kate stayed back with her children, who had just started at a brand-new school. And though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were coincidentally in the UK for other commitments, he wasn't able to make it there in time to see her before she died.

The real reason Kate stayed behind may have been Meghan.

As the Daily Mail reported, royal expert Robert Jobson told Australia's Daily Telegraph that Kate was told to stay behind in Windsor so Harry wouldn't have an excuse to bring Meghan. Apparently, it was so important to Charles to keep Meghan away that he wanted to ensure that it seemed that it was simply "not appropriate for wives to attend," including Kate.

"Privately, he wanted to say Meghan was not welcome," Jobson said.

The resentment has been reportedly growing for Kate over the last seven months.

"Kate deliberately stayed away but she desperately wanted to be there with the Queen in her last moments. That’s eaten Kate up and has built up resentment towards Meghan," Jobson claimed.

As if their relationship wasn't rocky enough already!

The walkabout that happened after the Queen's death wasn't easy for Kate.

According to Jobson, joining Harry and Meghan to greet mourners in Windsor in the days after the Queen's death was truly difficult for Kate, even though from the outside it looked like a show of unity for the feuding families.

"Catherine later admitted to a senior royal that, such was the ill-feeling between the two couples, the joint walkabout was one of the hardest things she'd ever had to do," he said.

It makes sense that Kate would want to say goodbye to Elizabeth.

After all, Kate's been in William's life since they were in college — at this point, Elizabeth must have been family to her, and they always seemed to have a good time when they made royal appearances together.

If Meghan truly was the reason Kate couldn't say goodbye, maybe it should be King Charles she resents. It sounds like he was the one who kept that goodbye from happening.
