How much money does it cost to raise Kevin Costner's three children? Nearly $250,000 a month, according to Kevin's estranged wife Christine. The 49-year-old is asking the courts to award her $248,000 a month in child support, according to documents obtained by People magazine.

Christine's attorneys filed the paperwork.

This is the latest blow in what appears to be the set up for a long and contentious divorce.
The mother of three says that number "is less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle" despite being an absolutely eye-watering sum for the rest of us.
That's not all Kevin could be on the hook for.
Christine also wants to see her 68-year-old ex paying for some of the children's basic care, including 100% of the tuition for their private schools, any extracurricular expenses, including sports and activities, and all of the health care costs for the trio.
That all adds up to quite the pretty penny … we're glad we're not footing the bill for all of this.
The court documents also offer a little insight into Kevin's vast fortune.
It's not like Kevin will be hurting for cash. According to the paperwork filed, the Costners have a yearly earnings of $7,595,520 after taxes and have written off lavish expenses like traveling to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Colorado, as well as entertaining guests, which they say requires caterers and chefs.
Their divorce continues to make headlines.
Kevin and Christine are already battling over Christine's refusal to leave their marital home, something that was a stipulation of their prenup. According to their original agreement, she would have 30 days to vacate the property after filing for divorce, but it seems like Christine overstayed her welcome and refused to leave within the time frame.

This is a difficult time for their family.

So far, many of the details of the divorce have been made public. Due to how much attention this split is already getting, we have a hunch that 16-year-old Cayden, 14-year-old Hayes, and 13-year-old Grace are probably going to hear a whole lot more about their parents' split than they want to.
Hopefully they have plenty of support at home during this difficult time.
