Even more new information is coming out about Kevin Costner's separation from estranged wife Christine Baumgartner. According to court documents, Christine alleges that Kevin had a pretty unusual way of telling their children about their upcoming divorce. This news drops as the man accused of having an affair with Christine denies their relationship, painting a pretty clear picture of the ugliness yet to come.

Kevin apparently broke the news to their children when Christine wasn't there to comfort them.
Court documents obtained by People magazine show that Kevin may have waited until his estranged wife wasn't around to tell their three children the sad news.
"After a 24-year relationship, from his hotel room in Las Vegas, Kevin told our three children that we were getting divorced over a 10-minute Zoom call without me present," Christine claimed in paperwork filed on Wednesday.
It's not like he wasn't going to be around for a while.
"I am still confused by his motivation to do this via a very short Zoom session, especially since he was planning on being home five days later," she continued in the paperwork. "He also could have easily come home from Las Vegas to have the conversation in person."
Apparently the pair had a talk before the Zoom call addressing how the children were to be told, with Christine explaining that she wanted to be sure to tell them "in person and together" as their welfare was of the "highest priority."
Kevin took matters into his own hands and told them during a routine chat.
We've heard that one of the reasons Christine was looking to leave her husband had to do with his long hours away while working, which is why she likely felt like she knew what was best when it came to telling the kids. Instead, she said that Kevin "disregarded my proposal to do what I felt was right based on research and my relationship with the children."
Based on the latest rumors about their split, there may be another reason Kevin didn't want to come home and tell the children together.
Rumors of an affair have been circulating.
A former tenant who lived in Kevin's Carpenteria guesthouse has been accused of hooking up with Christine.
Daniel Starr has adamantly denied having any type of relationship with Christine, telling TMZ that he only ever had a landlord-tenant relationship with Kevin.
When asked if Kevin ever confronted him about getting cozy with Christine, however, Daniel evaded the question.

Even though it appears Christine and Kevin are dead set on butting heads throughout the process, we can't help but think of their children — 16-year-old Cayden Wyatt, 14-year-old Hayes Logan, and 13-year-old Grace Avery — who all stand poised to get caught in the middle.
