Anyone who has been watching the Kardashian family drama unfold over the past few years likely isn’t surprised by rumors that, once again, Tristan Thompson wants Khloé Kardashian back. But doesn't sound like he'll be getting any help from Koko's big sisters. Reportedly, Kim and Kourtney are not on board with this plan.
Tristan has been trying to make things work since their original 2016 split.
Tristan and Khloé tumultuous relationship has been well documented — both by camera crews for Keeping Up With the Kardashians and their new show The Kardashians — leaving people with some thoughts about the unfaithful NBA star.
And while fans probably have their own views on things, it sounds like Koko's family has some strong feelings about the matter, according to what insiders have told Us Weekly.
Nobody is shocked to learn that Tristan still loves Khloé.
"Kim and Kourtney aren't surprised that Tristan is still trying to win Khloé back," the source explained. "She's an incredible woman and anybody would be lucky to have her by their side. Khloé always gives a hundred percent in her relationships, and she is entitled to the same in return."
The source went on to add that Koko will need a man who can "match the energy" that she provides for a partner, and it sounds like Kim and Kourt don't think Tristan's the one.
That doesn't mean anyone plans to ice Tristan out of the family.
The Kardashian family is known for their ability to coparent with just about anyone, which is why it's unlikely that even Tristan's poor treatment of Khloé will permanently damage his relationship with the group.
"Although they've had their differences with Tristan, he will always be family as the father of their niece and nephew," the source continued. "At the end of the day, all they want is for Khloé to find someone who supports her and makes her happy."
Another source hinted that Khloé would always be the one for Tristan.
After sharing a poorly received birthday shoutout to her ex, many wondered what type of future Khloé and Tristan could possibly have.
While Koko may not be interested in rekindling the painful romance with her ex, it sounds like Tristan would jump at the chance.
"He still loves her and wants to make it work between them," a second insider explained. "They're friends and great coparents, but he wants more."
Most people are probably anti-Tristan at this point.
While it sounds like Kim and Kourtney really just want to see their sister happy, we can't imagine her finding joy with her ex — especially judging by his track record.
That being said, Khloé knows what's best for Khloé, and if she thinks that Tristan is her happily ever after, then so be it. We'll just have to remain on the sidelines and tune in to the next season of The Kardashians to see how this all plays out for the former couple.
