Kourtney Kardashian Shares Fave Snacks for ‘Optimal Breastmilk Supply’ After Giving Birth

We may not have seen any photos of the new baby boy Kourtney Kardashian shares with husband Travis Barker just yet, but so far, she's been all about sharing the details of her postpartum experience with her social media followers. On Sunday, Kourtney took to Instagram to share the snacks she eats for an "optimal breastmilk supply" now that she's nursing baby Rocky Thirteen, and it might not include the foods you're expecting. You won't see any nursing cookies on this snack tray …

She shared a photo of a tray — featuring Christmas-themed dishware, at that — that included a mug of hot chocolate, along with a bowl of dried mulberries and another bowl of walnuts.

"Snack that's good for supporting optimal breastmilk supply," she captioned the photo.

There are certain foods believed to increase breast milk supply.

Although breast milk supply varies (because, of course, all moms and all bodies are different), some nursing moms have found success eating certain foods to keep their supply up. But what's most important is a well-balanced diet, according to WebMD, which recommends making sure you're eating "a variety of vegetables, fruits, grains, protein, and a little bit of fat" every day. Hydration is always key, too — dehydration alone can hinder supply.

Kourtney has been sharing a lot about her postpartum journey.

Earlier this month, Kourtney revealed that she's ingesting her own placenta and showed off the capsules she had made after Rocky was born. She said she believes it will help her have an "overall faster and better recovery from having the baby."

There are no proven benefits to new mothers ingesting their own placentas, but some choose to do it after birth.

Kourtney has always been outspoken about her love for breastfeeding.

In fact, it even led to tension between her and sister Khloé Kardashian, who chose to use formula to feed her first child, True — something the sisters hashed out in an interview for Kourtney's lifestyle site, Poosh. Khloé mentioned that at times, she wanted to "strangle" her older sister because breastfeeding seemed to come so easily to Kourtney.

"There is pain involved. The latching, once I figured that out, then it was pretty easy, easier for me," Kourtney admitted at the time.

Fingers crossed we get to see her little one soon.

Now that Rocky is about a month old, there's no doubt she and Travis are settling into their new routine. We can't wait to see this little one's face and find out if he looks more like his mom or his dad. Hopefully, Kourtney's soaking in all those newborn snuggles — this time goes by way too fast.
