What to Know
As a mom to four girls who hates when people ask her when she’s going to try for a boy, it’s no surprise that Kylie Kelce has strong feelings against gender reveal parties. After she watched one that went wrong for one set of parents-to-be during her Not Gonna Lie podcast, she had some harsh feelings about the future dad who wasn’t happy finding out that his baby is going to be a girl.
On the podcast, Kylie watched a video of a couple finding out if their baby is a boy or a girl.
The video was originally posted on TikTok but has since been deleted and shows a couple sitting at a table together as they each dig into a gender reveal cake with a wine glass. Once they scoop the cake out, they can see that it’s pink inside… and it’s immediately clear that Dad was hoping the baby would be a boy.
Mom, however, was really excited to find out that she’s having a girl, but she was definitely alone in that excitement, because her partner was openly pouting throughout the entire video.
She doesn’t think ever posting a gender reveal video is a good idea.
Kylie acknowledged that hoping for your baby to be a boy or a girl is a normal feeling to have, and for that reason, broadcasting the disappointment
“Guys. You don’t have to post things. It’s the craziest phenomenon,” Kylie said. “Actually, you can record videos and then decide to keep them for yourselves. This was a misstep. Here’s where I have an issue. This is where I need to draw the line. If you’re going to show us a clip like this, your divorce should be filed.”
Leave it to Kylie to let us know exactly what she’s thinking!
At this point, she thinks the mom-to-be might be better off cutting her losses.
Kylie acknowledged that the video could have just “caught him in a really bad moment,” which is fair, but if that’s the case, posting it did these people no favors.
“There are plenty of things that could’ve happened leading up to this, but you posting it, if he is this upstanding guy who’s going to be an amazing dad and a great life partner, you make him look like s—,” Kylie added. “And if it’s not a one-off, and he is the jacka– that it seems like he is, and you expose him, you better make moves girl.”
It seems like the mom did realize she made a mistake by posting the video because it has disappeared from TikTok (and so has her account in general). Here’s hoping that once her baby girl arrives, Dad is over his disappointment and excited to meet their brand new daughter.
