Kylie Kelce just launched her own podcast, and the first episode has sparked a debate about child care. On the first episode of Not Gonna Lie With Kylie Kelce, Kylie, who is married to former NFL player Jason Kelce, spoke about pregnancy and parenting, among other topics. In one clip that has since gone viral, she admitted that Jason doesn’t watch their kids while she’s working on her podcast. Whenever she has something to do and can’t watch the kids, she schedules child care ā even if Jason says he’ll be home.

In the clip, she answered a question from a fan.
“It’s well known that you watch the kids while Jason podcasts,” a fan wrote in a question that Kylie read aloud on her podcast. “Will Jason be watching the girls while you do this show?” Before answering, Kylie hesitated. “How do I say this nicely?” she said, laughing. “No.”
Kylie and Jason Kelce are parents to three daughters: Wyatt Elizabeth, Elliotte Ray, and Bennett Llewellyn. In November, they announced that they’re expecting their fourth child.
If Kylie can't watch the kids, she schedules child care.
Kylie went on to explain why Jason won’t be watching their kids while she works on her podcast. “When I have to do something ā coaching, something for the Eagles Autism Foundation, podcast, a doctor’s appointment, even ā I will schedule child care,” she asserted. “My husband could tell me 72 times that he is going to be in the house during the times when I have to leave it. I will still schedule child care.”
However, she also made it clear that this is not “a knock on [Jason].” “My husband is busier than he has ever been,” Kylie explained. “He is working so hard and really grinding right now. And so, I just make sure that I’m covered and if that means that he’s at the house and someone else is there, then that’s what we have going on.”

'He will not be watching the kids,' Kylie reiterated.
“He’s not watching them right now,” she said while podcasting. “I think he’s in meetings.”
Some fans who reacted to the clip took this to mean that Jason is simply too busy to watch the kids right now. However, others thought it sounded like Jason couldn’t be trusted to watch his own children.
To some, it seemed 'embarrassing' for Kylie to admit this.
The controversial clip garnered a lot of comments about how heterosexual couples divide child care duties.
“This is embarrassing,” one person commented on the clip. Another person called the parenting dynamic “sad” and “pathetic.”
“Straight women are not okay,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “i canāt imagine being married to someone i donāt trust with my kids. insane.”
Another person said it seems like Kylie has another child she has to take care of. “It sounds like Kylie also has a 37 year old son at home,” they wrote.
However, others defended Kylie and Jason.
Although a lot of people seemed to think that Kylie couldn’t trust her husband to look after their kids, others interpreted her comments in a different way. To one commenter, it sounded like Jason’s schedule is too unpredictable to ensure that he will be home. Therefore, she schedules child care just in case he won’t be there.
“She never implied that he canāt or wonāt parent his children,” the commenter wrote. “Sheās taking care of her own sanity and personal responsibilities because his schedule is not necessarily his own.”
“Sounds like since his schedule is demanding, insane, and sometimes urgent, she helps ensure the kids always have proper care,” another person agreed.
One person defended Jason by saying, “She’s NOT saying that he cannot or will not do childcare, just that he’s working, and she’s not going to bother checking his ‘work schedule’ since he’s working hard and they can afford paid child care!”
Besides, if they’re both OK with that arrangement, then that’s fine, one person pointed out.
“If that’s what she has to do while his post-retirement career is exploding, then that’s how she makes it work,” they wrote.
While some people could understand it, they still thought Jason seemed to benefit more from his arrangement.
Because Kylie and Jason are both busy, it makes sense that they would hire someone to watch their kids sometimes.Ā Many pointed out that they can afford to do so. Besides, taking care of three young kids can be a lot of work.
However, some noticed that Kylie seems to be taking care of everything, even when she’s busy. “Basically what I’m hearing is that when he’s busy, she keeps the kids out of his way … and when she’s busy, she also finds solutions to keep the kids out of his way,” one person wrote on X.Ā
