It's hard to believe that the time has finally come, but James Corden is stepping down as the host of The Late Late Show for good. In April 2022, James announced that he would be leaving the series after serving as host for more than eight years, and now his last season at the helm is coming to an end. The finale episode is set to air on Thursday, April 27, and it's hard to imagine late-night TV without the British comedian.
But in those 18 years, James has given us so many unforgettable (and hilarious) moments that we can look back on when we're missing The Late Late Show. Between his wildly popular Carpool Karaoke segment, featuring celebrities including Adele, Harry Styles, and Britney Spears, and the other skits that he's done with his famous guests, he's left a big legacy.
Now that James is taking his final bow, it's time to look back at some of his funniest, most genius skits from The Late Late Show. We're really going to miss his sense of humor!

His Hangout With Prince Harry
It wasn't until Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broke away from the royal fold that they started appearing on talk shows like The Late Late Show, and James really made sure the fans got what they wanted. He and Harry spent an afternoon doing touristy activities around Los Angeles, FaceTiming with Meghan, and even competing in an obstacle course race.

Carpool Karaoke With Michelle Obama
Carpool Karaoke has been the breakout hit segment from James' time hosting The Late Late Show, and it's truly hard to top the time when former first lady Michelle Obama was the one in the passenger seat. Sure, it was cute to see them singing a Stevie Wonder song together, but it got even better when Missy Elliott hopped in the back seat to sing along with them.
Working as the Kardashians' Assistant for the Day
Aside from momager Kris Jenner, the Kardashian family has their own staff of personal assistants to keep their busy lives and careers going. We don't doubt these are hardworking people, so of course James wanted to step in and give them a much-needed day off by stepping in as the Kardashians' personal assistant for the day. However, it didn't go quite as he (or they) planned.
His 'Frozen' Crosswalk Musical
Performing concerts and musicals in busy crosswalks has also become a Late Late Show tradition over the years, and one of his best was Frozen. He performed the show with costumes and a full cast, including the stars of the movie — Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Kristen Bell.
Carpool Karaoke With One Direction
This was another legendary edition of Carpool Karaoke — and one that has become all the more special since One Direction isn't exactly a thing anymore (and yes, we're bummed about it). We'll take any chance we can get to see Harry Styles and James together; they make a hilarious team.

The 'Pitch Perfect' Riff-Off With Anna Kendrick
As one of the stars of the Pitch Perfect franchise, it was only right that James challenge Anna Kendrick to a riff-off when she visited his show in 2015. They performed classic songs (and by classic, we mean "Bye Bye Bye"), and James put up a tough fight.
Racing Usain Bolt
Considering the fact that he's the fastest man alive, we wouldn't want to challenge Usain Bolt to a race — but the fact that James did just means there's another segment from his show that we will never forget. He, Owen Wilson, and his Late Late Show staff all participated in the race, but you can probably guess how it ended.
Drop the Mic With Anne Hathaway
We always knew that Anne Hathaway had a great set of pipes — she was in Les Mis, after all — but viewers were totally blown away by her rap skills when she went up against James in a Drop the Mic segment. Who knew that either of them were this good?
Judging 'The Masked Singer'
The singing competition reality show The Masked Singer includes a twist where the celebrity judges are also trying to figure out which fellow celeb is hiding under the costumes they're wearing. James decided to create a parody of the show where he, Josh Gad, and Adam Lambert were the judges, and it was too perfect. We wish this was the real thing!
Carpool Karaoke With Adele
Adele has been a guest on The Late Late Show several times over the years, and it's easy to see why. She and James are pretty hilarious together, and of course, we're never going to turn down the chance to see Adele singing in the car — or rapping a Nicki Minaj song.

Skydiving With Tom Cruise
While Tom Cruise was promoting his movie Mission Impossible: Fallout, he took James on a mission of his own. Despite James' anxiety, the two jumped out of a plane together, though Tom definitely enjoyed it way more than James did. Thankfully, they both made it safely back down to the ground.
Pranking David Beckham
David Beckham might be a living soccer legend, but he's not immune to being pranked! And boy, did James pull off a prank of epic proportions when he had a horrifically bad statue erected of David and played it off like he was actually being honored.
Rap Battling Helen Mirren
If you loved James' Drop the Mic segment with Anne Hathaway, you're also going to love the time he went toe-to-toe with Helen Mirren (if you haven't watched it multiple times already like we have). Much like Anne, Dame Helen truly impressed with how well she held her own.
Carpool Karaoke With Britney Spears
Britney Spears is another celebrity who's gone riding around with James, and it resulted in one of the most memorable Carpool Karaoke segments of all time. They sang several of her biggest hits together, but the best moment was the end, when they both dressed in the outfit she wore in her iconic "Hit Me Baby (One More Time)" music video to sing the song.
Opening a Restaurant With Gordon Ramsay
Known as one of the most discerning chefs in the world, Gordon Ramsay is hard to please. That was especially true when James pranked him, making him think he was serious about them joining forces to open up a restaurant together called Corden Ramsay. OK, but is that not the perfect name?
