She might have been a model for years before she was ever the First Lady, but Melania Trump has some people scratching their heads over her so-called style. Hey, I’m not the one who dubbed her “Tacky O” on X (formerly Twitter). After Karoline Leavitt shared a post from another account and called Donald Trump’s wife “beautiful and well-dressed,” Trump’s critics quickly cashed in on the chance to share their thoughts on Melania’s style.
When someone compared her to the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, aka Jackie O, others jumped in to share what they think of Melania’s fashion choices. And, spoiler alert, no one is really all that impressed. In fact, people are still mocking some of her more iconic (or, really, infamous) looks from Trump’s second term alone.

Leavitt’s post includes a photo of Melania from an account called FLOTUS Report. Along with it, Leavitt wrote, “Melania is the most beautiful and well dressed First Lady in history.” Alright, let’s just calm down a bit there. You’re going to get your maternity leave, Leavitt, no need to brown nose to this degree.
And she had to expect some of the backlash that came with praising Melania so hard on a social media platform. It also didn’t help that in the photo, Melania is wearing another large raffia hat. It’s not totally unlike the one that Melania wore to Trump’s second inauguration.
And, someone wrote in response to Leavitt’s post, “Beauty comes from within! Silicone, Botox and plastic surgery are nothing more than conceding to one’s vanity, unable to accept who they are.”
Someone else wrote, “How does that fix our affordability or healthcare problems again? Will her style get us out of the forever war in Iran that we are still in?”
Some say she doesn’t compare to Jackie O.

Others couldn’t help but compare Melania to another iconic and memorable first lady. But in doing so, they pointed out that Melania is pretty far removed from who Jackie O was, both in class and style.
“Jacquline Kennedy was the most graceful, elegant, natural woman that ever represented this country and her husband the greatest president,” a user wrote on X. “The Trumps can’t ever compare.”
Someone else said, of Leavitt, “She won’t know who Jackie O is. She wasn’t even born when Jackie O passed away. Perhaps her husband would.”
They’re still coming after her for those hats.

The so-called well-dressed first lady has a lot of explaining to do for those hats she keeps wearing. First, it was the inauguration hat. Then, the oversized hat she didn’t seem to take off much when she and Trump visited Buckingham Palace. Now, it’s her other large hat. THe reason appears to be fashion of some kind. But for some, it’s more fodder for more memes.
Some have called Melania’s hats lamp shades because of their side and shape. It’s a legitimate insult and one that isn’t too surprising, to be honest. People have also joked that Melania looks like Carmen Sandiego or Darkwing Duck with her hats.
On a Reddit thread about one of Melania’s hats, someone joked, “She has to wear it, the hat is the only thing that stops Donald from being able to kiss her.”
So is it fashion or a way to deter her husband? The world may never know.
