It’s hard to watch when your one-time idols do something embarrassing. Former 98 Degrees frontman and Love is Blind cohost Nick Lachey is facing the heat after recently sharing a video that can best be described as “cringe”.
The singer decided to share his acoustic cover of “Without Me” by singer Halsey, and let’s just say, people are thinking they can live without ever hearing those words come out of his mouth again.

Nick just wanted to have a good time.
Nick shared the video on his TikTok innocently, unaware of the storm of feedback he was going to get. In the caption, he wrote: “I used to do something called #MusicMonday where I’d drop weekly covers. Should I bring it back to TikTok? Let me know.”
He had no idea what was in store for him.
Vocally, Nick is actually pretty on point, but his performance is a little exaggerated for someone who is sitting in front of a Die Hard movie poster. People began to pick up on the cringey elements of the video, and couldn’t help but comment. When popular site Betches shared it on their TikTok, things really blew up.

'Can I sing at you?'
People got really creative with the ways they expressed their feelings about how “uncomfortable” the video was.
“I’m 42 and didn’t know I could feel this dry. ,” one woman commented.
“It’s giving room temp 78°,” another person replied.
“His PR team must have been on a vacation,” another said.
“It’s giving ‘i’ll play the guitar at you,’” someone else added.
“Is Halsey suing him? ” one person asked.
Some commenters were reminded of a certain 'Barbie' character.
“Auditioning for the role Ken,” one person quipped.
“That's kenough,” someone said.
“This was my favorite scene in Barbie,” another person chimed in.
“You are kennough (pls don’t serenade me again),” the official DuoLingo account said.
The comments weren't all bad.

Thankfully, there are a lot of people who think that Nick’s pipes are still in good working condition and praised his performance.
“He is not bad at all,” one person pointed out. "I don’t know why people are making fun of him. For real. He’s older and his tone has changed but so many people cannot do this!!"
“I don’t understand why no one likes it he sounds good!” someone else added.
Another person defended him: “I'm not even a fan of this guy but I think he sounds good. Y'all are too used to everybody using autotune.”
“Bruh he sounds good idk what y’all hearing lol yall trippin ,” another person commented.
