Prince Harry & Meghan Keep Kids Out of Spotlight Because They’re Not as Safe as the Royals

Though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have continued to make public appearances all over the world since they walked away from royal life, we can't say the same for their kids, Lilibet and Archie. Instead, their children are far more shielded from the prying eyes of the public (and their cameras) than even Prince William and Kate Middleton's children are. But if they're just living a more low-key life in California, why can't they share updates on their little ones?

According to what a friend of Meghan and Harry told Us Weekly, like other parents, they want "to share their kid with the world," but at this point, they don't believe they're able to do so safely.

Much of this is due to the lack of security granted to Harry and Meghan when they visit the UK — one big reason they don't often bring the children with them when they travel there.

They're aware of the fact that Lili and Archie's cousins have more safety than they do.

"William’s kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they’re recognizable," the friend added. "And the same doesn’t apply to Meghan and Harry’s children. They know the world wants to see [them but] I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted, if it ever does."

The whole family seems happier in Montecito, California, than they were in London.

The friend added that while Harry does miss his home country, he knows things are better this way.

"He’ll always be fond of his home country, but the way he views it, his wife and kids are his priority," he said. "If that means making sure they’re safe and happy in Montecito, then he supports that."

The kids are doing well, too.

According to the friend, Meghan and Harry are very "focused" on raising their kids.

"They take the kids to school, they pick them up, and they are very active and present with them throughout the day," the source said. "They’re so well-mannered. Archie is sweet and curious and playful, and Lili is vibrant and happy."

It sounds like their bond as a couple is stronger than ever.

"They’re so in sync," the friend said. "Throughout their relationship, they’ve stood together no matter what."

If all of the drama and feuding that Meghan and Harry have been in the middle of for the last few years didn't tear them apart, nothing will.
