One year ago, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas became parents for the first time when their baby girl, Malti, made her way into the world three months early. And now the new mom is opening up to British Vogue about the backlash she's gotten for using a surrogate to conceive her daughter.
Priyanka isn't willing to tolerate gossip about her daughter
She was worried Malti wouldn't "make it"
She was born early and required over 100 days of NICU time before she could go home with her parents, and Priyanka said that when Malti was born, she was "smaller than my hand."
"I don’t know how they even found what they needed [in her tiny body] to intubate her," she admitted.
Her daughter also posed for the magazine
Since Priyanka and Nick have always made sure to obscure Malti's face or only share photos where her back is to the camera, that also applies in the Vogue shoot. But it still resulted in one truly amazing shot.
The matching outfits are just too much!
These two have been through a lot together in Malti's short life
But now that Priyanka has her first year of motherhood behind her, it sounds like she's loving every minute of it.
It's good to hear that she's not letting the online trolls get her down. She did what she had to do to bring her baby into the world — and the reason behind using a surrogate is nobody's business but her own.
