Since Britney Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me, was released in October, it has taken the world by storm. Britney Spears’ ability to tell her own story after a 13-year conservatorship gave us insight into what she had endured during that time. The stories she shared about her life in the spotlight, including her three-year relationship with fellow pop star Justin Timberlake, have made headlines since the book hit stores. And now, her brutal honesty and unrelenting desire to take control of her own narrative have led several top film producers to express interest in making Britney’s story into a movie or TV show.

Multiple celebrities are expressing interest in adapting Britney's explosive memoir.

As Page Six reports, Hollywood A-listers like Brad Pitt and Reese Witherspoon are interested in producing the project for their respective production companies. Multiple sources told the publication that Margot Robbie has also expressed interest in turning the bestseller into a book or movie, and according to The Ankler, some of those celebrities are willing to bid in the "mid-eight figures range" for the rights.
There is one celebrity rumored to be interested who has a connection to Britney.
But despite the rumors that Shonda Rimes had thrown her hat into the ring, it seems that is no longer the case — if it ever truly was. "Shondaland is not pursuing this project," a spokesperson told Page Six.
Shonda and Britney do have a history — Shonda wrote the screenplay for Britney's hit movie Crossroads — but it doesn't seem like they're planning to work together again (at least, not on this potential project).
Any possible adaptations are in the early planning stages.

According to insiders, any adaptations are in the early stages as more production companies express interest in the project.
"It’s only beginning to take shape," one insider told Page Six.

Britney was reportedly not anticipating so many people wanting to adapt her story.
Hollywood newsletter The Ankler, which was the first to report the story, shared that Britney had actually chosen to reschedule a meeting with an unnamed top producer simply because she "didn’t feel up to it."
The Ankler also reported that Britney was "overwhelmed by the response" to the book’s release, and she and her team have supposedly decided to put a pause on making any major decisions about what happens next until the singer "has time to catch her breath."
'The Woman in Me' is now a bestseller.
The Ankler also shared that independent of a possible movie, Britney is also reportedly in talks for a documentary that could earn her up to $40 million.
The Woman in Me was an instant New York Times bestseller, selling more than 1.1 million copies since its release.
