‘RHONY’ Viewers Outraged by Rebecca Minkoff’s Fake Pregnancy Storyline

The Real Housewives of New York City officially rebooted for Season 14 by introducing a brand-new cast. As with the OG iteration of the Bravo reality series, it didn’t take long for drama to begin. However, viewers were livid about Rebecca Minkhoff’s fake pregnancy storyline in Season 15.

Rebecca, 42, is a fashion designer with a recurring role on RHONY. She and her husband, director and producer Gavin Bellour, 47, married in 2009. They have since welcomed four children: daughter Bowie and three sons, Luca, Nico, and Leonardo.

'RHONY' teased a pregnancy in the Season 15 trailer.

In the sneak peek for Season 15 of RHONY, Bravo hinted a possible pregnancy. Rumors swirled heavily on Episode 7 of the Bravo show that Rebecca “had this wild night and ended up getting pregnant by some other guy.”

Erin Dana Lichy told Jenna Lyons and Brynn Whitfield the pregnancy was “very, very early on, and she’s really stressed about it.”

But was it actually true?

Was Rebecca really pregnant?

No, Rebecca was not pregnant.

She “confronted” Erin during Episode 7 about spreading the rumor before angrily leaving their dodgeball match. At the end of the episode, however, it was revealed that the whole thing was a prank Rebecca and Erin pulled on their co-stars.

RHONY viewers will find out what happened during the Season 15, Episode 8 episode airing on November 19.

Viewers were livid about Rebecca Minkhoff's fake pregnancy storyline.

After the November 12 episode aired, RHONY viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to air their grievances.

We should’ve known this pregnancy rumor was going to be a prank, we’ve already caught editors leaving Brynn and Rebecca Minkoff self-producing in the previous episodes!” one X user wrote.

Another shared, “Wow, somehow Brynn and Erin managed to manufacture drama that is more boring and tired than rebecca minkoff and her fashions. Bravo needs to drop those two lames or reboot this d*mn reboot.”

Meanwhile, someone else pointed out, “This ‘prank’ was one of the most anticlimactic things I’ve ever watched and so disappointing.”

Andy Cohen was 'not a fan of the prank,' either.

“I’m not a fan of a prank, I’ve got to be honest,” Andy Cohen said on Watch What Happens Live of Rebecca’s faux pregnancy, per Page Six.

To that, guest Jeff Lewis — host of Flipping Out — replied, “I think it’s a bad move. I think it’s self-producing.

He added, “I think that you lose trust in your audience. I think it’s a bad move. I don’t like pranks.”

So, does Rebecca want more kids?

In January 2023, when Rebecca was pregnant with her fourth child, she opened up to People about flaunting a “bolder and sexier” maternity style.

“It’s definitely my last pregnancy, and so I was like, why not celebrate the bump?” she told the magazine. “Show it off, wear a crop top. We can do all the things.”

At the time, Rebecca also noted that her family was “complete” with four kids.
