Royal Family Snubs Invitation From Harry & Meghan To Attend Lilibet’s Christening

Not even a major milestone like a christening was enough to repair the broken bonds between Prince Harry and the rest of his family. Sources say that Prince William and King Charles were among the many family members who no-showed after being invited to Lilibet's christening — poor kiddo!

People magazine reports that Lilibet's christening day came and went without an appearance from the royals.

The special event took place on March 3 in Los Angeles. Although the 21-month-old was surrounded by some famous guests — godfather Tyler Perry was obviously on hand for the celebration — Prince William, Kate Middleton, King Charles, and Queen Consort Camilla were all noticeably missing from the festivities.

Around 30 people attended the small service.

Even though Lilibet's royal grandparents were nowhere to be found, sources say that her grandmother Doria Ragland was in attendance, as well as Tyler and Lili's godmother, though we don't know who Harry and Meghan picked to fill that role.

We know the little girl was likely too young to realize anyone was missing from her party, but we're sure her parents were keenly aware that none of the royals RSVPed for her christening.

A representative offered little insight into what went down behind closed doors.

One of Harry and Meghan's spokespeople did confirm some of the details of the christening — such as the date and that it was performed by the archbishop of Los Angeles, the Rev. John Taylor — they offered little else in the way of intel about who else was there and, more importantly, why the royals were not.

This isn't the first invite exchanged between the warring families.

Page Six reported that Harry and Meghan received their own bit of royal correspondence earlier in the month, this one in regard to the king's upcoming May coronation.

"An immediate decision on whether the duke and duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time," another representative revealed to the magazine.

We can't help but remain cautiously optimistic.

Every time something major has happened within the royal family, it's seemed like the perfect opportunity for the families to come together and finally hash out everything that has gone down between them.

Unfortunately, it appears they let each of those moments slip by without ever managing to make amends. Although we do concede that the more time that passes the less likely it is that their relationship will ever be repaired, we can't help but keep our fingers crossed that a reconciliation remains just around the corner for the royals.
