Gypsy-Rose Blanchard’s Ex Ryan Anderson ‘Looks Forward To a Healthy New Beginning’ After Divorce

Ryan Anderson's lawyer shared a statement with People magazine.

On December 9, People reported that Gypsy-Rose and Ryan have finalized their divorce. Gypsy-Rose filed for divorce in April. Attorney Randy J. Fuerst said that Ryan is ready to move on even though he didn’t initiate the divorce.

“Ryan Anderson was aware that the divorce was taking place today,” the attorney said in a statement shared with People. “He’s always conducted himself as a gentleman and a good husband. He did not seek this divorce but is now glad that this saga in his life is over and he looks forward to a healthy new beginning.”

Gypsy-Rose said she felt like she was 'settling.'

Gypsy-Rose also opened up about her divorce during an interview with People. She explained to the publication that an argument she and Ryan had in March made her realize that she was truly married — and that the marriage wouldn’t actually work. “It was kind of like my first shock of holy crap. I’m married,” she told People. After that, she realized that she was “settling” and would not be happy if she remained married to Ryan.

“It’s kind of like, okay, well, you know that you’re settling — that you’re kind of pushing on to just do what everybody else does in life, but you’re just settling,” she told the publication.

She and her boyfriend Ken Urker are expecting their first baby together.

Not long after Gypsy-Rose filed for divorce, she and her ex-fiancé Ken Urker started dating again. Then, in July, she announced her pregnancy on YouTube. “It was completely unexpected, but we’re both very excited to take on this new journey of parenthood,” she said in a video at the time.

In the caption, she mentioned her boyfriend Ken. “Well…the rumors are true! Ken and I are so excited to start our family together and i can’t wait to share my journey with you here on YouTube and my other social media platforms,” she wrote at the time.

However, some people wondered if Ryan was the baby's father.

Because Gypsy-Rose announced her pregnancy shortly after filing for divorce, paternity rumors began circulating. On November 5, Gypsy-Rose shared the results with her Instagram followers from a prenatal paternity test.

“There’s been a lot of chatter around the paternity of our baby and while we’ve known for sure from the beginning, I feel that it’s finally time to put all these theories to rest,” she wrote at the time. “Here are the results showing Ken is the father. Ken is going to be an incredible dad and we are so excited to welcome our baby girl into the world.”

Ryan previously said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Gypsy-Rose.

While Ryan is reportedly eager to move on, he previously admitted that he felt like he had “no choice.”

“I just want to say, was I given a choice?” Ryan previously said during a text conversation with Us Weekly. “After what has happened, she hasn’t really given me any other option, but to try and move on. I married her because I wanted to spend my life with her. Gypsy was all I ever wanted.”
