Shawn Johnson and Andrew East's family just got a little bigger. On Thursday, the former Olympic gymnast and celebrity mom revealed that she has welcomed her third baby into the world, filling in fans on the details in a new edition of her newsletter. And not only are they excited to finally meet their little one, but as it turns out, their baby also was born during a time that feels especially meaningful to their family for a very special reason.

Shawn and Andrew shared the exciting news on Thursday.
In their FamilyMade newsletter, Shawn and Andrew revealed that they welcomed their third baby via C-section on December 12, and it sounds like mom and baby are both doing well.
They're taking this time to spend together as a family, so they haven't revealed their baby's sex or name just yet.
Shawn wrote, 'Our baby is healthy and that's all we can ask for!'
She wrote a bit about her postpartum recovery in the newsletter, too.
"Recovery is always a process and I've learned to be really patient with my body. Not trying to rush anything and really just going to soak it all in," she shared. "The third time around feels so surreal because even though we've done this twice before, there's still so much nervousness and excitement around the days leading up to the birth and then so much magic once you get to hold your sweet baby in your arms for the first time."
Even though she's had three babies, Shawn said it 'never gets old.'
"You spend your whole pregnancy wondering how you could possibly love another baby just as much as your first two and then in an instant your heart expands and basically triples in size, it's incredible. Being a mom is truly my favorite thing," she wrote in the newsletter.

The baby's birthday falls during a significant month for Andrew.
The newly minted dad of three also took the opportunity to share why his little one's birthday is so special.
"Life is so good and we are feeling really blessed to have a third healthy baby join our family. My dad was born on December 9 and passed away unexpectedly on December 27 of last year, so December is a really impactful month for us," he explained. "Having our baby born so close to my dad's birthday feels really special and I know he would be smiling down and so proud of us."
The new big brother and sister are over the moon.
Andrew and Shawn are also parents to 4-year-old daughter Drew and 2-year-old son Jett, and they say that they're so excited to have a brand-new sibling join their family.
"Seeing them meet their newest sibling was the sweetest thing EVER. They've been so gentle with the baby and I know they're glad the wait is over, especially Drew," Andrew shared.
