Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell’s Final Days Were Reportedly Filmed for Family’s Reality Show

After 10 long months, Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell lost her fierce fight with cancer at the age of 29. Her mother, Mama June Shannon, made the announcement on social media last weekend. Now, it’s been revealed that Anna’s final days were filmed for the family’s reality show, which is reportedly something she wanted.

Anna starred in three reality shows alongside her family: Toddlers & Tiaras, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, and most recently, Mama June: Family in Crisis. Members of the show's crew attended her funeral — which had a public viewing but private service — but they were there as friends. The funeral was not filmed for television.

Anna consented to her last days being filmed.

According to People, which was invited to be a part of Anna’s funeral services by the family, Anna’s final days were filmed because “that's what she wanted.”

There are no details right now about how that will play out on the show, but the show’s crew were at the funeral because June and her daughters consider them “friends and family.” The funeral was not filmed.

Anna's mother, June Shannon, announced her death over the weekend.

On December 10, June announced in an Instagram post that Anna had died.

“With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us,” she wrote in the post’s caption. “She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM. She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won't and we will will be updating y'all with more information as we get it today.”

She then shared the information the following day for Anna’s funeral service.

Anna was described as being spunky right until the end of her 10-month battle with cancer.

People was exclusively invited to attend Anna’s service, where it was said that she “had spunk until the very last moment.”

Her sister Lauren “Pumpkin” Efird spoke during the service about how much Anna loved her two daughters, her husband, and making chicken and dumplings with biscuits and spaghetti for everyone. She also questioned how the family was going to move forward now that Anna is gone.

Her loved ones did something special at the service to honor her memory.

During the service, Anna’s loved ones did something memorable in her honor: They performed the “Tina dance,” which is the dance performed by Tina Belcher on the show Bob’s Burgers. There was even a point where June encouraged everyone to get up and do the dance in her daughter's memory.

There was also a program handed out that had a photo of Anna, along with the phrases “Forever in our hearts” and “we're gonna miss you.” It also included a poem called “Broken Chain.”
