Suki Waterhouse Says Her Postpartum Experience Has Been ‘Humbling’

Adjusting to life as a first-time mom is never easy, and though some celebrity moms don't like to share that part of their lives, Suki Waterhouse is more than happy to tell it like it is. In a new Instagram post, Suki opened up about the fourth trimester and the roller coaster ride of hormones that comes with it. The Daisy Jones & the Six star only recently became a mom when she and Robert Pattinson welcomed their first baby into the world.

Suki shared a photo in postpartum underwear.

In the Instagram post, Suki is wearing a bra and high-waisted undies as she poses in front of a mirror. She's holding her phone in one hand and a baby bottle in the other.

"The fourth trimester has been … humbling!" she wrote. "the postpartum period has been filled with exhilarating joy, so much laughter, tears, soo many hormones! I’m proud of everything my body has achieved and proud of the kindness and grace I’ve given myself during this recovery period."

Her followers thanked her for her honesty.

In the comments of Suki's post, fellow moms gave her a shout-out for being so honest about the postpartum experience.

"Thank you for being so real about what we go through after we deliver our precious angels. The hormones, the sleepless nights., the sheer joy and wonder of how such a little human can make your heart burst," one person wrote.

Another commenter added, "Having a child is the hardest job you will ever love."

She and Robert welcomed their baby into the world last month.

Though there was no big announcement, word got out when The Daily Mail captured photos of the new parents out for a walk with a baby stroller. So far, they haven't shared the baby's name or sex, but they were pushing a pink stroller in the photos, leading fans to believe they may have had a baby girl.

In early April, she shared the first photo of her baby.

Although most of the baby's body (and face) is hidden from the camera's view, Suki did share this Polaroid photo to Instagram just days ago. Here, she's cradling her little one, careful to support the baby's head.

"Welcome to the world angel," she wrote in her caption.

Here's hoping this new mama is taking it easy.

The postpartum period truly is no joke — it can be really overwhelming to try to learn to care for the newborn you just met while also recovering from birth at the same time. May Suki's recovery continue to go smoothly, and may she soak in all those new baby cuddles, too. This time can be tough, but it goes by too fast!
