Taylor Swift Fans and Brittany Mahomes Fans Are Now Feuding on Social Media

There’s a storm brewing in Kansas City. Last weekend, superstar Taylor Swift graced Arrowhead Stadium with her presence at the request of NFL player Travis Kelce. Rumors have been swirling around for weeks that they may be dating, and Taylor showing up at the game isn’t making them go away.

As fans are losing it over Taylor possibly becoming a Chiefs WAG (wives and girlfriends), Kansas City Chiefs fans are reminding her that they already have Brittany Mahomes, wife of quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Brittany was also at Sunday’s game, and her posts about it have begun a war between her fans and Swifties.

It didn't take long for the feuding to start.

“ Did you get to meet Taylor?! ” one of Brittany’s followers asked after she posted a series of pictures of herself at the game.

That innocent question set off a feud and a firestorm in the comments. People made it abundantly clear that they were taking sides.

Brittany's fans showed up for her.

“You mean did Taylor get to meet her?" one fan commented. "This is Britney’s town! Not a Taylor concert."

“Amen…this is Patrick and Brittany's town, not Taylor Swift,” another replied.

Another commenter wrote: “Mrs Mahomes is the 1st lady behind Mrs Hunt. Make no mistake about it. It’s her town ❤️. We love Brittany!”

The Swifties were ready to defend their favorite.

“Any town is Taylor’s town,” someone wrote.

Another Swiftie wrote: “Yeah, that's not how this works… that's not how any of this works… the world's (arguably) biggest pop star and you are saying narcissist Britney owns the town? Yeah, that's called delusional sweetie!”

“I love Brittany but last time I checked she hasn’t sold out arrowhead for a concert," someone pointed out.

Everyone is already picking teams.

It wasn’t just fans on Instagram who were separating into Team Brittany and Team Taylor. Over on X (formerly Twitter), fans were comparing Taylor’s gameday behavior to Brittany's.

“Kinda crazy that Taylor Swift is the most famous person in the Chiefs locker room,” one person tweeted. "Brittany Mahomes has to be punching air."

The comparisons were plentiful.

Another user posted a meme of ice skaters Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan at the Olympics, branding Brittany as Tonya Harding and Taylor as Nancy Kerrigan.

“Brittany Mahomes sprays champagne on fans after wins, and Taylor Swift cleans up her trash so other people don’t have to,” another person tweeted alongside a video of Swift cleaning up after herself in the suite where she hung out. "My chiefs queen right there ."

Brittany is used to the backlash.

“I was not prepared for this,” Brittany said last month. “I didn’t expect it to skyrocket this soon and us kinda being thrown into the fire like this.”

But just because she wasn’t prepared, doesn’t mean she’s letting the haters get to her. “I could give two s—- about people’s opinion of me that don’t even know me,” she said during an Instagram Q&A.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out!
