Teen Mom alumna Bristol Palin is in shambles as she revealed that her 15-year-old son has moved out of her home to be closer to his dad, who lives more than 3,000 miles away in Alaska. The 33-year-old former reality star shares son Tripp with her ex Levi Johnston. On August 14, 2024, the mother took to Instagram to share the emotional news on her Instagram Stories. She also detailed how she's been processing the huge change.

She had a lot to share in her post.
Bristol shared a photo to her Instagram Stories of her two daughters, Sailor and Atlee, whom she shares with ex Dakota Meyer. Over the picture, she revealed in text why her son wasn't present. "This has been the hardest 'first day of school' yet with one of the biggest pieces of my heart missing," she wrote, per the US Sun. "Tripp has decided to finish out high school in Alaska to be closer to his dad and our entire family."
Bristol says she can't blame her son for wanting to go to Alaska.
"If you know Tripp, you know he lives for hunting/fishing and I honestly can't blame him for wanting to be back home," she continued in her post. As hard as it has been to come to grips with his decision — it's truly not about what I want."

She admits she had to overcome her selfishness.
Although Bristol has had a tough time processing her son's move, she noted that she couldn't allow her selfishness to get in the way of his decision. "He's almost 16 years old and that relationship with his dad is a lot more important than my own selfish desires of having him with his mama forever!" she wrote.
Bristol is a wreck of tears.
The mom of three went on to reveal that she's unable to "talk about it yet without crying." She shared, however, that she's "selfishly praying for a quick year and easy transition" for her and her children. She and her daughters currently live in Texas.
She shows so much love for her son.
In a birthday post from 2022, Bristol paid a heartwarming tribute to Tripp. "Happiest 14th birthday to my baby boy!! ," she wrote. "(we’ve had to grow up together which i know hasn’t always been easy – but YOU have always been the greatest part of life, my heart could burst watching you grow into such an incredible young man – you are so special Tripp Easton!! WE LOVE YOU!)"
