School is back in session, and everyone is getting in the spirit. Teen Mom star Gary Shirley posted a photo of his daughters Leah and Emilee rocking their first day of school outfits last week to his Instagram. Gary shares Leah, 14, with ex Amber Portwood, and Emilee, 8, with wife Kristina Shirley.

Gary clearly loves his girls.
"Just two of the most important people on this planet," Shirley captioned his post. "Today was their first day of school! I love these girls very much. I'm very honored to be their father."
Leah looks so grown up in her jeans and T-shirt with a pair of fresh white sneakers. It’s hard to believe that she’s already 14 years old.
Gary’s followers couldn’t help but comment on how much she’s grown.

“Leah got tall. She is blossoming into a pretty young lady," one commenter noted.
"No way is that Leah!!!! When the heck did she grow up!!?" another person wrote, with one commenter adding, "I look Leah and i fell like i’m her aunt hahah :’) the time goes fast!"
Leah is growing into a beautiful young woman.
Fans also couldn’t help but notice how much Leah looks like her mom, Amber. The similarities are something you definitely can’t ignore.
"Beautiful! Leah looks just like her mom," one person shared.
"Don’t take any offense to this, but Leah looks just like Amber. She’s growing up so fast," another person added.

Leah's relationship with her mom is 'strained,' but they're trying.
Leah and Amber have had a "strained" relationship as the teen has grown up and Amber has gone through a series of her own struggles.
"I want us to be friendly together and not have any issues or anything," Leah said about her mother on an episode of Teen Mom: The Last Chapter last year. Amber had attended Leah’s 13th birthday party after they had been estranged for a while. "I don't want to have any tension or be awkward with her or anything."
"We are just trying still. We're trying to really find where we're at and where we want to be at," Amber shared about the situation.
Leah has been supportive of Amber after her mom lost custody of her brother James.
Amber also has a son, James, with ex Andrew Glennon. When Amber lost custody of James, Leah reached out and sent a message to offer support.
"Having Leah in my corner right now has been beautiful," Amber said during a different episode of the show. "When she sends me these messages, I feel like my world is just bursting with joy. She just makes me feel amazing."
"My mom and James, they really do have a nice relationship. Like something I didn't have with her but it's unfair because all of her work that she's gone through to even be here now, is that all for nothing?" Leah asked her dad after being told James was moving to California with Andrew.
