In 2009, MTV viewers were introduced to Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards inĀ 16 and Pregnant. They went on to star in Teen Mom as they co-parented their son and moved on to different relationships. Today, Maci Bookout’s son, Bentley, is 16 ā and he recently weighed in on the subject of teen pregnancy.
It’s no secret that Maci and Ryan’s relationship has been tumultuous through the years. From welcoming Bentley when Maci was still in high school to getting briefly engaged, navigating drug problems, breaking up for good, pushing through legal issues, and more, itās been a wild ride. Thankfully, Bentley has no plans of repeating his parents’ story.

A new trailer for 'Teen Mom: The Next Chapter' pointed out an interesting milestone for the star's kids.
On December 20, a new trailer dropped for Season 2B of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter. MTV pointed out in the video that the kids are all roughly the same age as their parents were when they were born. For folks who have been watching since the beginning, this was a mind-boggling reality.
In the video, Maci Bookout's son Bentley addressed the idea of a teenage pregnancy.
In the trailer, Maci sat at a table as she told her son, āYouāre turning 16.ā
Bentley then made an honest confession to his mother about becoming a parent at that age. He admitted to Maci, āI donāt know what Iād do if I had a kid right now.ā
Maci celebrated Bentley's 16th birthday with a sweet slideshow.
On October 27, Bentley turned 16. Maci marked his big day with a touching Instagram post featuring a slideshow of photos. “Never forget how exceptional you are, keep on keepinā on Benny! Happy Birthday ā¤ļø,” she captioned the update.

In the comments, 'Teen Mom' fans couldn't believe he was already 16.
Longtime fans of Teen Mom were in denial that Bentley was somehow 16. In the comments, one Instagram user wrote, “How is 16 already? I just rewatched your episode!”
Another echoed, “Bentleyyyyyy yourĀ all grown up š„¹š„¹.”
Meanwhile, someone else eloquently commented, “Omg! HAPPESTĀ BIRTHDAYššš„³ This internet auntie watched you *on TV* watched you grow into the handsome young man you are. I’m sure you make your family so proud. Here’s to many moreššš„³š„³š„³š„³.”
Season 2A of 'Teen Mom: The Next Chapter' showed Bentley getting his learner's permit.
In Season 2A, viewers saw Bentley take his learner’s permit test. He unfortunately failed the first time around, but with a bit more studying, he passed. After Maci took Bentley for a driving lesson, she reflected on the milestone.
“You really have to have faith and trust that you’ve done a good job as a parent. But they have to learn to trust themselves and make decisions on their own,” she said. “But it is absolutely terrifying.”
Season 2B of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter premieres at 8 p.m. ET on January 30 on MTV.
