Tia Mowry Finally Shares Where Her Relationship With Twin Tamera Stands Today

If you grew up in the ’90s, there’s a good chance that watching Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry on Sister, Sister was a big part of your childhood. These twin sisters seemed to be totally inseparable, even off camera, but now that so many years have passed, there have been rumors that they’re not close at all anymore.

It’s a topic neither of them speak about too often, but in a new interview this week, Tia finally broke her silence on where the sisters’ relationship stands today.

Tia admitted that there is some “distance” between her and Tamera.

While talking to Entertainment Tonight in an interview that was shared on Instagram this week, Tia mentioned that she and Tamera, who are now 47, are experiencing a “natural growing apart.”

“Yes, there’s distance,” Tia said. “But when something is important to you… you will make time for it.”

To keep a connection between them, the sisters made a pact.

Despite the fact that they’ve been drifting apart, Tia said that she and Tamera are working on fixing that connection between them so they can make their relationship stronger, and that means that they’ve worked hard to make sure they will check in with each other at least once a week, always on the same day.

“We’ve made a pact with each other that we’ll reach out once per week, and that’s on Sundays,” she said.

This isn’t the first time Tia’s mentioned the rift between them.

During a September 2024 episode of her reality series, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, Tia made a rare comment about her relationship with her twin sister — and how hard their separation was after she split from ex-husband Cory Hardrict.

“Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce,” Tia said at the time. “It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her. But that’s just not where we are right now.”

The update came after Tamera admitted that she wasn’t asked to appear on Tia’s show, which was the first hint that things may not have been right between them.

It’s good to hear that they’re working to stay in touch, though. All siblings grow apart at least a little in adulthood, but it’s sweet to hear their pact to stay connected.
