Many of us grew up watching twins Tia and Tamera Mowry on Sister, Sister, and they’ve only continued to work together since then … until now, apparently. In a new clip from Tia’s upcoming reality series, she admitted that she and her twin aren’t as “close” as they once were — something she wishes were different as she navigates her life after her divorce.

Tia opened up about where her life is in the new clip.
In the footage from Tia’s new WEtv reality series, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, which was shared by Entertainment Tonight, Tia opened up about how, after splitting from husband Cory Hardrict in April 2023, this is the first time she’s truly on her own in her life.
“I came into this world with a twin and right after that, I went into a 22-year relationship so I have never been alone in my life,” she said. “It has been quite a journey.”
It sounds like she may not even have her twin sister to lean on right now.
“Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce,” Tia continued. “It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her. But that’s just not where we are right now.”
Considering just how close Tia and Tamera have seemed to be throughout their lives, including into adulthood, this came as a pretty surprising admission.
The first clue that the sisters may have been growing apart came in May.
As the New York Post pointed out, when Tamera chatted with ET back in May, she revealed that not only had she not been asked to participate in her sister’s new show, but that she’d also found out about it “with the rest of the world.”
“She’s like, this is my story, and you know, I can only respect that,” Tamera said at the time.

A source close to sisters, however, says that Tia and Tamera aren't on the outs.
“The sisters are close but the quote being referenced was about their physical location — Tamera lives in Napa and Tia lives in Los Angeles,” the insider told E!.
That doesn’t seem to jive with what Tia said about not being able to call her sister, but maybe things have changed for the better since the clip was filmed.
On Sunday, Tia posted a throwback video on Instagram of her and her sister.
She posted a clip from their Tia & Tamera reality show that premiered in 2011: a funny moment the sisters shared when her son, Cree, was a baby.
“Who remembers that time on Tia & Tamera when I got my sis to try my breast milk after Cree was born?!” she wrote. “Yes, that actually happened! With my new show Tia Mowry: My Next Act coming out on October 4th, I had to bring back this iconic moment. Get ready for more laughs, realness, and all the new chapters ahead!”
