Proud Grandma Tina Knowles Shares a Rare Update on Beyoncé’s Twins Rumi & Sir

Tina Knowles is a proud grandma, and why shouldn’t she be? Beyoncé’s two daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter, have both broken records, and they’re not even old enough to vote! And because Beyoncé’s only son, Sir Carter, doesn't seem to enjoy living in the public eye quite as much as his sisters do, we don't know as much about him yet … but if you ask their grandma, he's pretty incredible, too. Not that anyone's surprised that Tina would take the opportunity to gush about her grandkids!

Apparently, Rumi is the creative genius of the family.

While attending the Kentucky Derby last week, Tina bragged a little about her two youngest grandbabies. She talked to E! News about how they’re finding their passions at the young age of 6.

"Rumi is amazing — an amazing artist, painter and creator," Tina shared. "How could they be anything else growing up in that environment? All we talk about is creativity and fashion."

Sir has very different interests from his twin sister.

And as for Rumi’s twin brother? "Sir is very quiet," Tina said, noting that his interests vary greatly from his sister and that he "does all of the numbers stuff, so he's not into fashion as much."

Maybe he’ll be like dad Jay-Z and become a businessman instead of following the rest of his family in their creative pursuits.

Some things never change.

Tina’s comments on Rumi and Sir line up with what she has said about them in the past. In a 2019 interview with Us Weekly, Tina gave some insights on just how different the twins’ personalities were, even at 2 years old.

"The girl is really just going to rule the world, and the boy is kind of laid back and chills like the dad," she explained.

Rumi has already found major success.

Although Beyoncé tends to keep her two youngest kids out of the spotlight, they have been featured in social media posts, ad campaigns, and her Renaissance tour footage. Rumi was actually featured in the song "Protector" from Beyoncé’s latest album, Cowboy Carter. She can be heard saying, "Mom, can I hear the lullaby, please?"

Thanks to this feature, Rumi made history as the youngest woman on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

It looks like Rumi is following in her big sister's footsteps.

Rumi actually dethroned her older sister Blue Ivy as the youngest woman to chart on the Billboard charts. Blue previously earned the honor when she was 7 years old for her feature on Bey’s "Brown Skin Girl" in 2019. Blue also won a Grammy for her involvement.

It makes sense that both of these girls are breaking records when you think about their mom being Beyoncé. It’s literally in their blood!
