Tom Cruise and his son Connor made a rare appearance together in New York City this past weekend. The father and son were in the Big Apple because Tom is doing promotional work for his latest film Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning, offering a sighting that we don't get often.

The father and son are rarely spotted together in public.
While Tom and Connor, 28, aren’t spotted out in public together very often, but do make the occasional public appearance. They seem to like attending sports events together, including a Los Angeles Dodgers game in 2021.
Tom shares Connor with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, who he divorced in 2001.
They adopted Connor in 1992, and adopted his sister Isabella in 1995.
Connor grew up mostly with his dad.
When Tom and Nicole divorced, he retained custody of Connor and Isabella, who now goes by Bella.
Tom unsurprisingly raised both kids as Scientologists, and they are still part of the organization to this day.
Both Connor and Isabella have largely stayed out of the spotlight given how famous both of their parents are.
The siblings usually stay out of the spotlight.
If you look through Connor’s Instagram, it’s mostly pictures of himself out on boats and fishing. There are a few pictures of him as a baby, but no pictures of him with his dad or mom.
When Tom and his son are spotted out together, they are often full of smiles and having a good time. They were dressed fairly casually for their day out in the city.
It’s hard to say how much of a relationship Tom has with Bella, who moved from Los Angeles to London, but it seems that she’s close with her brother.

Nicole supports her kids no matter what.
Nicole is pretty tight-lipped about her relationship to her adult children, especially since she left Scientology in the '90s and they’re still members.
"They are able to make their own decisions," she said in a 2018 interview with Australia's Who magazine. "They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them. I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here."
It's not clear if Connor is in contact with his younger half sister, Suri.
It’s hard to know if Connor or Isabella have any relationship with their 17-year-old half sister Suri, who Tom shares with Katie Holmes.
Katie and Tom divorced in 2012, after marrying in 2006. Reportedly, Tom is estranged from the teen and hasn't seen her in a long time.
